My daughter just sent this article to me: The Perfect American Road Trip Has Finally Been Planned. Interesting.

Interesting idea.
At least for California, there are a bunch of places to see rather than the San Andreas Fault up near Fairfield. How about where Hwy 14 cuts right through it near Palmdale. But it's only about a 30 second look, and say "Wow, look at that!".
So, I nominate Yosemite National Park as a magnificent alternative.
Intriquing algorthm though.
