The breeze coming off the water felt a bit chilly, but the sunset views across the lake were good.

Camped on the Arkansas River in Salida, CO. We could fish sitting on our back bumper...or just sit inside and watch the fishermen float by.

David and Mary caught the view, sounds of the river, and smells. The cats caught the view.

Mesa Verde

Out our bedroom window at Ancient Cedars RV Park. We are just across the road from Mesa Verde National Park.
Those ancient Pueblon people farmed on top of those Mesas and lived in the cliffs below.

I thought Mesa Verde was pretty fascinating. We only drove the 5 hour loop but had a good time and enjoyed learning about these hardy people.

It was at Mesa Verde where we met the absolute smartest US Park Ranger we’ve ever encountered. After stopping at the visitor center we drove to the entrance gate, map spread out in Rita’s lap and brochures on the console. Stopping at the entry point the ranger asked for my geezer pass and ID. Upon handing it back to me, he asked if I had any questions. “I see you’ve got the map out and have selected your route for the day “ he said.
I confirmed we had. Then without any emotion, looking into the car at the two of us he said.
You and your daughter have a great day in the park.” What could I say, …what could I say?
Nothing but “Thanks, we will.”
I should have bought some Pinion pine seeds to eat as I know they are tasty but didn’t think about it at the time.

Just up the road towards Buena Vista is Mecla Junction a campground in the CO Parks system. A great butcher shop is just north of Salida: Scanga Meat Co. They have a lot more than just meats too.

Let's see if this works mixing photos and videos.

Here are two kit fox kits romping about behind my trailer in Atascadero, Ca at our annual Spring Frolic Rendezvous last week.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/8nmpohjyep..._0358.MOV?dl=0 I hope this link works out.

The Vixen and two of her kits are here:

Hi, Greg. You’re not the first to struggle with posting photos. Sounds like a great picture. Here’s a thread from the “Forum Help” section that might be useful in getting it posted:
