The new Honda accords have a passenger lane camera that comes on automatically when you flip the passenger lane turn signal. The view comes on in the center of the dash. Digital mirror and a real mirror. More eye distraction moving forward? Eyes moving to both, Idk. It sure is hard to not look at the dash every time you hit that turn signal.

I think we may be taking about two different things. Is yours a backup camera that only comes on in when you put it in reverse? The GM one can replace the mirror view with a wide angle rear camera view even when driving forward.

Back-up Camera , is it worth it?
Things sure changed since 2105 at GM this is what pops up every once in while or if you try to play with the nav settings while driving in the Sierra which I find funny as you have to look to hit the OK button.
Cheers

A rear view camera *is* keeping your eyes on the road. Same as a rear view mirror. They both look at the same piece of road. But only one of them works when you are towing a trailer.

While driving into Chattanooga on an interstate highway with lots of curves, I saw a billboard that read:
"If You Are Reading This We Will See You Soon"
and beneath was the name of a local auto body shop.

How do the Escape factory Tadi brothers camera wires go through the fiberglass shell? Is it this rubber grommet shown? Then Silkaflex over that? Second, Are the RCA connectors in a cupbord accessible or are the hidden behind the vinyl wall covering? I was wondering what would be involved if it needed replacement? Which a lot of electronic items do later down the road being in the sun and harsh outside conditions like this camera which might be made in China. Photo attached, click for larger view. Thanks.

The connectors are plugged into the wireless transmitter and the whole shebang is left loose inside the upper rear cabinet unless you specify otherwise. I had the wiring extended from the RCA connectors all the way to the front of my 21 so the transmitter would be closer to the receiver in the truck.

Definely worth getting the camera . I do not have this one , mine is a Voyager . My understanding they won't install other then what they sell now. Make sure they leave your connections outside the vinyl . Mine are buried underneath and I had problem and ,after a call to Escape . I had to cut vinyl in cabinet to get to wiring . Mine has a rubber grommet. Pat

Here's an interesting one for hooking up purposes, looks like it'd work for either a bumper pull or a 5th wheel.

Is the Escape monitor over the rear mirror of flat panel monitor now. An older post gave this flat monitor SKU 90117 number (photo attached) but thought i read another post that said its over the rear view mirror monitor. Thanks

I have the Swift Hitch. It is great for hooking up, but has a narrow angle of view. Has a magnetic base and most of the back of my RAV4 is plastic. I glued a disc of metal to the spare tire cover.
