It's not Friday
We couldn't post any "Friday" pics, as Kim left during our build, so here are a few pictures of our new 19.
We picked up on the 22nd and spent 4 days on our return trip to Utah. One night at Bayview state park WA with full hook ups to test all systems and 2 nights dry camping. We originally were going to dry camp every day but the border crossing/traffic forced a last minute change of plans. The new 150 watt solar worked great, keeping the batteries topped up even on cloudy days. We filled up the tanks at ETI and made it 4 days on 20 gallons (lots of cruising experience - we know how to conserve!) Our only concern was the furnace, it's really loud and can't image sleeping with it on, seems overkill for a small camper. A bit of a concern as we will be doing a lot of high altitude camping.
The 19 stuffs so much camping luxury in a small trailer, we were more than pleasantly surprised, eating ice cream camping just didn't seem right.
Our layout, is a little different, we keep the front dinette made up as a full bed and the rear "lounge" has a 12 inch filler that makes up into a twin at night, we used 3 inch Costco memory gel toppers and just moved the rear topper to the front in the daytime. For meals we just used a small portable table. A few trade offs but a "hangout space" was a priority for us. This is our first camper, so nothing to compare, but we are very impressed.

Might as well be FRIDAY, because we see PICS! Cool, looks like you got the extra filler board and cushion? I did... love that rear "lounge" with the view out the rear of the trailer.

Quality photos. The first one looks like a Calendar pic. You should share it with ETI.

Hey, congratulations on the new Escape. It looks fantastic.
I wouldn't worry too much about the furnace noise. On those cold nights, you will be very happy that the furnace is running, and I found that I actually got used to the noise quite readily. I don't see an A/C unit on your photos (maybe just a poor angle), but we found that the A/C noise was much louder and more difficult to get used to than the furnace. Of course, where we live, the furnace in our home runs for 8 months of the year (or more), so the furnace noise kind of becomes unnoticeable background noise.

Your trailer looks great.
Like Dave, I too finally got used to the noise of the furnace, but it did take a bit. This is typical of any trailer I have had though. We keep our temps at night at 9°C (48°F), and sleep with warm cozy blankets, to minimize the amount it runs. We would go colder, but condensation can become an issue. This helps keep the charge up in our batteries, and we like to snuggle too.

Another reason to upgrade to the 21' models, the furnace is farther away from the sleeping area. But the Atwood 8012 model is very low amp draw which those without hookups love.

An alternative to the furnace is the optional heat strip built into the ac unit. We almost always used the heat strip to warm up the trailer on chilly mornings, it is a gentle heat and doesn't overheat the interior. We never camped when it was really cold.

Yeah, not just iPhone but all the newer phones take great pics. Hard to control the light sometimes because you can't adjust the aperture, but the resolution is great.

If you frame the shot and place your finger tip on the screen where you want the camera to determine exposure and focus, hold it there for a couple seconds, and it will use that focus and exposure until you quit the app.
Works on iPhone anyway.
So, you can adjust exposure by choosing the area of the pic the camera uses.

True, but that's an electronic estimation. My minor point was that phones take great snapshots (the ones above are a case in point) but never as good of course as a quality SLR. Anyone who's seen Jon's great photos can see the difference.

As a retired news photographer of 44 years, I'm not gonna argue, but for most people the iPhone does just fine, especially when you learn a trick or two.
Being retired, I have no desire to add to the billions of images that nobody ever looks at. Seems that the act of taking the picture is enough for a lot of people.

Not to be argumentative, but to suggest that phone cameras take primarily great snapshots but never as good a quality as a quality SLR is erroneous. Someone who knows their way around cameras and has an expertise with capturing light and an eye for composition can turn out some quality art images. Jon's great photos are not reliant on his equipment so much as his talent. There are tons of poor quality photos taken by people with quality SLR cameras. My minor point is that it's not what you have, it's how you use it.

there are lots of poor photographers with great cameras, heck my self included. Its pretty awesome to see the work of someone with talent and skills. I envy those who have the skill and talent, I just get lucky once and a while and it works out. I believe the saying is " even a blind squirel gets a nut once and a whlle"
