Need an awning arm for 2007 17B

Ok I our awning arm broke while camping. Its a 17B year 2007 awning and arms made by Carefree in Colorado. Carefree does not exist any longer they have changed the design at Escape and can’t send us a new arm. Aaaaargh. So, a call out if anyone has an extra arm from that vintage where the bend is at the top please let me know and we will gladly buy it and pay for shipping.
Help!

I think https://www.carefreeofcolorado.com is still in business, at least they were a month ago when I ordered some parts from them. Let's hope so! Whether or not they have the part you need is another question. Look for the sticker on your awning with the serial number; you'll need that to order parts.

Thanks we are going to contact them tomorrow. We were told they were out of business but that was incorrect so hoping they have an older part. Thank you for replying

ETI used a jig to custom bend the arm to the trailers. I don't think they have the jig any more.
I'd hang on to whatever remains of the broken arm because you may need to get it repaired.

An arm was sent to them and they bent the bottom abd told the service dept that they don’t carry Carefree anymore and this was the bend they use now. Would not bend the top? Quite odd.

Carefree is very much alive and well. As has been mentioned, the lower awning arm can be bent quite easily if needed using a mallet and a wooden jig. On the first generation Escape with the curved sides, they adapted the Carefree awning by doing just that - bending the lower arms. There was never a need to make bends on the upper part because the awning is surface mounted, which means the upper part automatically protrudes from the curved surface. On the 2nd generation trailer, since the sides are vertical, there's no need to bend the arms.

Well, not true. How quickly we forget. The earliest awnings were mounted higher on the body and the upper portion of the awning arm was bent... along with the lower portion.

Just how is the arm broken? If you still have it and can post a pic, maybe somebody will have a good idea.

I guess they could buy a new pair, but they're quite expensive - in the $350 range.

My 2008 build has a Carefree of Colorado "Fiesta" awning.

Hi: rbryan4... I understand Reace got told that his awning purchases were too insignificant to warrant the second bend. He tried to bend a few with dire consequences. Tammy asked why they couldn't just lower the upper mounts and work with one bend... So they did!!! Alf

Just to let everyone know who are trying to help. Carefree does not carry bent arms any more. Dustin at ETI can not bend the top. We found someone who took it apart and luckily it’s the inner arm that’s Broken. So we can get the inner arm that Dustin bent for an arm that was sent to him from an rv repair shop. As he can bend the bottom part. We can use the new inner arm fingers crossed it all works.
