Lowes in New Westminster - Sinks
To all you Vancouverites out there:
I'll be in Vancouver and then Chilliwack later next week. Do you know if the Lowes in New Westminster carries the deeper stainless steel sink (bar type) that Donna had them use in her 5er? I don't recall the brand or model but I know she got hers at Lowes and hand delivered it to ETI. Not an option for me to buy it out of state since I'll be flying in. If I can get it locally I'll be able to hand it over during my visit.
Thanks for any advice.

This one would probably work too. Still deeper than the stock sink and roughly the same outer dimensions:
Shop KOHLER Toccata 19-Gauge Single-Basin Drop-In Stainless Steel Bar Sink at Lowes.com

Phone Lowes in New West- that'd be your best bet- also check to see if there is a Lowes in Surrey- a much larger City.

I don't find any Franke sinks at Lowe's Canada but there is a Lowe's in Bellingham which is about 45 minutes away from Chilliwack. You could always order something to be picked up at the Bellingham store.

This is not the sink Robert is looking for. But that said, I am the chief dish washer in the family and wanted a larger-than-supplied sink in our upcoming 21'. Possibly too long for counters in smaller models but this seemed like a good thread to mention it.
Longer Sink
I reviewed the specifications with Reace and we concluded that the fit is acceptable. It is available on Amazon and other web locations.

Now that might work if they don't have one in the Canadian store. I could jut down to Bellingham and re-cross.

See if it's cheaper and available in Queensborough. US to CAN $$ may make it more attractive. Besides, you'll pay sales tax in Washington State and that ups the price.

I researched it by changing my store location to the one in BC. Looks like all the suitable ones are special order with a 2-3 week lead time -- not stocked in the store. Also, despite the favorable USD to CAD conversion rate and the sales tax in WA, the sinks on the Lowes.ca look like they'll still be more expensive. Karen's idea of picking one up in Bellingham is looking like the best option so far.

rbryan4 I live about 10 minutes from the New West Lowes. Give me a couple of hours and I'll go have a look. I have to do the vacuuming first.

That would be FANTASTIC! Thank you so much.
Any stainless bar type sink will do as long as the dimensions aren't beyond about 20" either direction, and as long as it's at least 7" deep.
Once again, THANKS SO MUCH. I look forward to your results.

Sure, we're going right after lunch. As it turns out Gerri has to go to a nearby bulk food store. Good timing.
PS: Is the 20"X20" dimension the overall width/length or is that the basin dimension?

Tax certainly can be significant. British Columbia has sales tax, too: 5% GST (the Canadian federal Goods and Services Tax) plus BC's PST (Provincial Sales Tax) of 7%.

Well here are the results of my field trip to the New West Lowes. They did not have the Franke model that Donna specified nor did they have the Kohler model that you provided. Most of the sinks at Lowes are brand name Kindred, which I believe is a Canadian name for Franke. The following three are the only single basin models they had that came close to the dimensions you gave me. These are all 20" wide by 20.5 inches back to front. The first one is 8" deep and the other two are 7" deep.
Kindred 18-Gauge Single-Basin Drop-In Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink at Lowe's Canada
20X20.5X8. Note, you would need space at the back of the sink for the faucet. $139.00
Kindred 20-Gauge 1 Drop-In Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink at Lowe's Canada
20X20.5X7 $94.99
243526 at Lowe's Canada
20X20.5X7 $89.00
There was another sink made by Dekor, for which ther appears to be no online information. I recorded the dimensions of 16x16x8.25. When I called the store back they said no on line info but the dimensions are 8X8. I can't see how I could be that far off! In any event it is, what they call natural stone" but since it is quite light I doubt it is natural stone. Its a dark charcoal colour so that may not work anyway. Price was $99.00
It seems to me that the Kindred sinks would be too large for anEscape. I would think the Kohler model would be a better fit. I will see if that is available anywhere around here.

Thank you VERY much Mark!
The 2nd and 3rd ones you link might work in an Escape. I've seen the Dekor one you mentioned. It's made of a composite material that is mostly granite. Not the look I'm going for with Stainless though. It's probably similar to this one: http://www.lowes.com/pd_40255-10882-...7C1&facetInfo=
The countertop is 23" deep, so 20" sink depth should work. I'll swing by there on my way to ETI Thursday and have a look for myself. Your info is really helpful, and thanks again. Oh, and if you find the Kohler locally, please do pass along the details.

Yes the Dekor one is similar to the Blanco that you show. The Blanco model is at the New West store as well. The Dekor has three holes for the faucet and has a heavier looking rim. I tried to find an local outlet for Kohler but it seems that bar sinks are a special order item. You can get them on Amazon.
Give yourself some extra time to get back to the airport. The Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend starts Friday for some.
