thanks for the note being cheaper now but how does that work being year out Do you lock in on the rate now? I would assume that's how it must work.

The lender will probably look at your situation and tell you when you can lock in a rate. Just ask up front when you can lock it in. No question the rate is excellent now. Does not mean it will not get better. In 2011 when Americans bought Escapes, they paid extra because the exchange rate was against us. Now it is highly in our favor. If you lock it in soon, hardly seems you can lose.

thanks cathy I am going to Costco Mon start with Essex credit first. I not so much worried about the interest rate as you can write it off plus checking mulipy lenders means they each check your credit score which effects your credit score. I mean 6 percent over 20 years on a 30k loan outweighs bedbugs in hotels. I will never go thru that again. Anyway, having owed a Casita in the past I know what I want, at this stage in life its basic, just hope with this Escape I can get the refrig to stay cold. Sad to say at my age but that's what I would enjoy. Escape Co was kind enough to give an offer sheet based on my build sheet. Hopefully, I can present this Essex and things will go smooth Thanks again for your insight

Every time you send a payment to ETI, you'll get the rate for that day. It can and will change. It's not based on the rate for the first payment.

The lock rate with your lender is for the loan.

If you want to see virtually every model of Escape plan to visit the Mississippi River Escape Rendezvous starting September 25. It is real close to St. Louis with the rally planned for the Quad Cities. Here is a link to the event.

There maybe other events in the area that are even earlier in the year.

Do you know your credit score? You do not need to let a lender check your credit if you are worried about it affecting your score. --- I have heard the same and don't get why it should but you don't have to let them check it. You can tell them your score (have the first one give you your score, if you do not know it --- if you can get it out of them) and get the facts on the different lender's loans and see if you even think you want to use them, or can. Then go where you like the best. As for a cold fridge, uh oh, don't know about that one!

okay thanks donna I appreciate it but how many payments are send to eti When I brought the casita its a despot and the finial payment. I have my build sheet in mind and will request a quote based on that and will make no changes. When I receive the quote from eti I will give them the upfront money and then I assume I would pay the balance upon delivery based on the quote that was presented at the time of entering the contract. We are each gambling on the exchange rate so it seems logical to me but I am not a bright guy so maybe I am missing something? So I am thinking again, my mom would have been proud she never thought I thought anything out, maybe I need to wait until the build is completed and then apply for the loan. My concern on that is what if I get turned turn down. I doubt that would happen, but this is what brings me back to why I waited to trailer. There is so much uncertainty on this. Banks are a lot more hesitant on lending money on an rv loan,

Good point, Donna.

And Paul. Yes, Kevin! come to the rally.

Yes, you can pay when the trailer is done but most people probably pay it in advance. We have paid much of ours to make sure we had a good rate and our build sheet is not even due yet. If the rate goes more in our favor, all the better for the rest due. If not, we had a great rate on what we have paid. No telling for you this far out.

You should apply for a loan long before your build sheet is due so you know your situation.

Why would a bank (or whatever) checking one's credit score affect that credit score?
