Ah... so turning on the pump was the alternative, not the fix. Now I get it!

This doesn't violate the "don't turn on the pump if using city water" rule, because whether blocked by ice or just turned off, there wasn't any city water connected (and there was water in the tank to use).

Good to know. They start one campground earlier than the others and continue it later - that's Whistlers; the rest of Jasper fires up this weekend (the traditional Victoria Day long weekend kickoff to summer out here) or later. (The Wapiti campground is year-round, but has no water service to sites).
