The name I chose for my trailer

I can't stand it any longer... I'm going to spill the beans

As is said, there are Ford people and there are Chevy people.

There's also Star Trek people and Star Wars people.

I've been a Trekkie of sorts since the campy original series debuted in 1966. To seek out new life... to boldly go (where I've never gone before )....

One of my favorite series was Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG). On board the starship NCC-1701-D was an area where the crew went to relax. That lounge and recreation area was on deck 10, section 1, the forward section.

Do you see where I'm going with this?

The name of that facility and what I'm going to call my beautiful trailer is:

Name:	TenForwardLogo.jpg
Views:	55
Size:	11.1 KB
ID:	3527

Ten Forward is the hub of the ship's social activity. Everyone on board comes here." - Jean-Luc Picard (TNG: "The Offspring")

Children are not usually allowed in Ten Forward unless accompanied by an adult. (TNG: "Imaginary Friend")

In case of low-power or emergency situations, Ten Forward is a designated emergency environmental support shelter. (TNG: "Night Terrors," "Disaster")

And my personal favorite account: Thomas Riker's description of Ten Forward in a romantic clue to ship's counselor Deanna Troi was "What the future holds, no one can know, but forward we look and forward we go." (TNG: "Second Chances")

I never thought I'd have an opportunity to purchase the tenth of any Escape build. Maybe the 110th, but not the 10th... especially a 5th wheel. I am willing to wait however long it takes to own the 10th new Escape 5th wheel off the line.

This is FATE and is partially defined as:
1 - A power that is believed to control what happens in the future
2 - The things that will happen to a person or thing : the future that someone or something will have
3 - The will or principle or determining cause by which things in general are believed to come to be as they are or events to happen as they do : destiny

As Paul Havey would say... Now you know the rest of the story.

I wish you luck Donna, but there maybe a fly in the ointment, you pick your date off a calendar, assumedly #10, But, and there is always a but, Escape can and does change their production and someone else may come along and needs a Saturday or a non 5th wheel production day to pick their unit. The numbers can and may change. I was #10 originally on the Escape 21 list, I'm now #12, thru nothing on my part, but Escape made some concessions for other customers and snuck some new 21's in their schedule. They are operating a business, don't forget and if they can meet a customer's request, your Ten Forward may become the 13th Floor. Just a bit of caution and some wisdom of BT/DT.

Thanks Jim. I'm not worried. I don't care when I pick it up. It's the 10th build I'm interested in. You may very well still be number 10, but will be the 12th to pick up/deliver because of all the out-of-standard mods you're having done.

To me, it's whenever it POPs out of the mould and is put on the frame. I have nearly 400 hours of vacation on the books and am a bit more than 300 miles from the factory. If they called me today, I could be there in six hours.

Very cool, Donna.

So sorry for the terribly hard squeeze we gave to extract this info out of you.

It is heartwarming when the stars align for someone who seems so deserving of it! Many happy light years to you!

You made me go look didn't you! I also looked at the napkins that were up for bid...

But, I'm not into decorating "Trekkie." I'm just looking for peace, serenity and relaxation.

I really like what Clive Banks has to say about the franchise:

Each episode has a morality tale, and the series constantly maintains an indomitable faith in man as an essentially noble creature, flawed and a little impulsive, but with its heart in the right place.

What's not to like?

Fran and Dave: THANKS! What a wonderful thought and thoughtfully said.

Congratulations Donna! You are going to have a ball decorating your trailer around this theme. Maybe Reace can help with the graphics outside. The ideas are endless!

Thanks for spilling the beans Donna (and cool beans they are too). We've been wondering why ten was so important to you. How exciting! We don't know how you can stand to wait a year - we can barely wait 50 days!

Live long and prosper,
Dave & Kathie

PS - Sorry cpa - we jumped on one of those extra production days and will be number 8 .

Love the name!! I think you might need a lettering decal on the back window in that exact font, even if you don't do any trekkie decorating!
Geeks of a feather

I actually have the Star Trek TNG font and created the image in the first post. I'll have a decal made and put it somewhere on the back. Maybe on the spare tire continental kit I'm eyeballing.

Dave&Kathie, I need the year to make up my mind about the options I don't make these kinds of decisions very fast. Look how long it's taken me to just BUY one

Very nice. My wife is also a trekkie, hence the name of our trailer "Escape Pod". I said, "make it so".

I might have to give up my fruit hat and get a saucer hat like Guinan's!

You can carry a bowl of fruit on that hat.
