Looks like early December before he comes home. Can't wait. My maternal grandfather served in the Navy in WW1. One time I asked my grandmother what my grandpa's job was in the war. She said he shoveled coal in to the engines. Maybe one of the worst jobs. Very hot. He also afterwards was in the Merchant Marine.
I am very proud of my son.
For all of us who depend on those who are currently serving in the guard and reserve, let your son know his his service to the country is genuinely appreciated. Whether at home or abroad, we appreciate all their efforts.

A family member served as a Navy radar operator in World War II. He had some choice, and asked why he chose that, he explained that the position was above the waterline and somewhat protected inside.

Whatever the role, I appreciate the service of all veterans.
