Remove shade tension brackets

I’m thinking of adding AireFlow hypervent material under cushions. The product is 3/4” thick. We have two dinettes in our 21NE; we sleep in the rear of the trailer. Because of the raised floor (because of frame) the benches are higher than in front which makes the back cushions touch the tension brackets. If I could remove them and replace with something that didn’t stick out the extra height wouldn’t be a problem. Any ideas welcome! Thanks

Not sure if this will meet your need, this is a slightly lower-profile tensioner-post (aka 'backstabber') mentioned in another thread on the forum:

Pleated Shade Hold Downs Spool Tensioner on Amazon

With apology, I bookmarked the product page but do not have a bookmark for the forum post where this was mentioned. I have not purchased / used this item myself.

That looks like a good option. Thanks!

maybe a better solution for you ...

While searching for the post about the item I linked above I ran across Eggscape's solution wherein he completely eliminates the posts protruding beyond the bracket:

Start reading at this post and continue reading the several following for full details.

I’m not as patient as Ed but I am pretty resourceful. . I will think about it a bit more and post whatever I come up with. Does any have experience with the AireFlow hypervent material?

I have Hypervent under my boat cushions and E19 dinette cushions. I’ve been happy with it.
