I need some help. We have some rust stains on the roof of our escape 19 from the screws on the vent that is in the kitchen area. Does anybody have a suggestion for what we can use to remove them without destroying the gelcoat.
In the car dealership I worked at the cars in the seventies used to get industrial fallout and the only thing that removed it was oxcilic acid. We would mix it with soap and soak a towel in it and keep the towel soaked on the surface for an hour or so. It took the stuff off. They used to us oxcilic acid to remove rust stains in clothes

Whink
Whink, an "over-the counter" consumer available cleaner, in a brown squeeze bottle, is a mild rust stain solution and may work. It's available in grocery and hardware stores and Amazon. Are you sure it is "rust" and not tree sap or leaf discoloration?
Whink is worth a try.
