Question Andersen Ultimate installation

Awaiting for completion of a 5.0. We'll be towing with an F150, 6.5 feet long bed and considering the Andersen ultimate hitch.

Are there different ways of installing the rail mount hitch? I've read somewhere about putting it of axle to allow for more room in the bed. Is that even recommended? Or I simply misunderstood and people were only talking about the coupler position?

Also, are the safety chains required or not? Where do they attach to?

Is the truck bed trailer extra plug a must have? Does it worth spending extra money to have that?

Could someone with a similar configuration share your experience, post some pictures or point me in the right direction here on the forum?

Thank you.

The Andersen Ultimate is not a fifth-wheel hitch, so in many (most?) jurisdictions it is not exempt from rules requiring a backup method of attachment, which is generally safety chains. Cables are sometimes used instead of chains, and in some cases only a single chain or cable is required.

For the trailer side, Andersen sells an optional chain kit that replaces the two regular bolts that clamp the adapter onto the king pin with bolts that each have a loop on the end.
For the truck side, the usual solution is to buy fittings intended for this purpose which pin into the mounting rails (in the case of the rail mount type). Here's an example:
5th Wheel Safety Chain Anchors #16000 (UPC: 612314001569)
... and one from Andersen:

There is a hitch place in Chilliwack that some Escape customers use, named Trademasters
