Back hatch hits electric jack and can’t open all thecway
Just picked up our19’ trailer. We are towing with a 2019 Toyota 4 runner. When we tried to open the back hatch it hits the electric jack and does not open fully. Any suggestions on how to resolve?

1. You could try unbolting the tongue jack, and rebolting it on after rotating 120°.
2. Use a longer ball mount. Some ball mounts have a longer 2" square shank, and some have a second 5/8" hole, thereby giving the option of the ball being further back from the receiver and bumper.

There are several fixes for this issue, rotating the jack head, installing a Jack-E-Up, or getting a longer hitch to extend the distance. This last item can impact your capacity. Here is the link to Jack-e-up https://jack-e-up.com

If you have a Lippert brand, consider rotating it 90°.

Is the problem with the front cargo box related to having rotated the Lippert power tongue jack? I'd like to clear my hatch but also need the cargo box to open.

Not sure yet. Once I rotate the jack will find out. Agree - I want to be able to do both. We travel with dogs so the hatch at this point has been important to access.

That tank cover just slips on easily from the over head, try reversing it. There are also tank covers that are elastic which may give you more clearance.

I found when pulling propane tank cover up to remove an inside molded ridge got hung up against regulator bracket and jack. Once I reversed the regulator bracket so facing back toward trailer, it freed up space to lift cover.

Here is my tongue jack after rotating the jack head, I can now lower my tailgate. I had to tap the second set of holes in the jack.

I rotated the jack head. Just need about 2 more inches that hopefully I can find a hitch to extend.

rotated electric jack head, now cannot open, close storage bin
I rotated my electric jack head, and now the LP tank cover is too tight that my storage bin will not open/close. I have a 2019 19'.
Looked at some soft lp covers on line but all have bad reviews. Cannot locate another brand that will fit.
Anybody ever modify their tank cover? It is wider at the top, and I need it to be about 2" narrower (it is wider at the top then the bottom).

Why is it that other owners can rotate the electric jack and it works? see post #14, 2 up...

I saw that one too. Don't have an answer. Maybe that one (21') has a bit more room to work with.

My original Atwood electric jack started making bad noises so went to buy another and of course it is discontinued. Was a fairly tight fit to begin with. Wish I had asked if my replacement coupler could have been moved slightly forward; seems like plenty of room.
After research I bought a Husky Brute 3000 and liked it very much, however had the same problem as jcoug above. Also it wouldn't turn 90 degrees without drilling holes which I wasn't going to do. Sent it back and bought a Bulldog 3500 and it works great at 90 degrees. I also replaced the front box edge guard on the lid and went with a smaller profile than the original.

Where did you get the new, smaller box edge guard, that may solve my problem.
