My 2019 Tacoma with a heavily loaded 21 trailer and truck with two paddleboardss on the roof averages 12 to 14 mpg US after 9000 miles of towing. I drive around 60 mph and ease to 50 mph over steep grades. The worst I ever got was 10.8 traveling a mountain pass with strong headwinds.

My WD hitch comprises 12% of my Tacoma's tongue weight capacity. It's a lot to give up but I prefer the ride with WD over without.

We just bought a 2019 Tundra DC 4x4 4.6L to tow our new 2020 E19. I didn’t even really think about it, I added the WDH to the build sheet. I might need it, I might not. I’ll probably only use it on the long hauls.

You won't need it. I tow a 21 with a 2008 Tundra DC, 4.6 liter. The truck is about as long as the trailer and almost twice as heavy. Never had any problems.

That was the exact same setup I used back when we had a 2013 E19' and towed with a 2016 Tacoma Sport. It was a good setup. However I had a cover instead of a topper.

Hi, We just picked up our new Escape 19' on last Thursday, April 16th . When backing up into our driveway, I turned to sharp and broke the tail light on my new Tacoma (new one $300 +).
So , have added a one foot extension welded to the hitch, which gives more room. Then I have order a cable extension for over $126.
Also in getting the new escape 19' I discovered that the water pump was not pumping water. With info from Escape Trailer Industries I had to lift the bed, take off access panel to the pump and turn the flow valve so water could get to the pump, all is well now with getting water to the taps and tollet.

I don’t think I would add an extension to the hitch. The only time you can jackknife enough to make contact is when you are backing up. By extending your hitch you put extra load on your vehicle and change the dynamics. Even with a one foot extension to your hitch you are still able to jackknife and make contact.

The extension to the hitch brings up another question. for you guys with Tacoma . will i have any issue with clearance for the tail gate? I rather not add any extension.

My 2016 Colorado tailgate did not clear the power tongue jack on my 21' Escape. I rotated the head of the jack 90 degrees and now all is good. I too have the Fastway WDH.

I don’t know why it was 300 dollars for a tail light assembly?? Did the same thing with my Tundra. 65.00 on Amazon and 10 minutes to change it. Two bolts, pop it off, change out light bulbs, pop it back in and snug it up . Done. Did you have other damage?

Yes typically under $100 from any number of vendors. I wouldn't doubt that the dealer would charge $300+. Maybe that included labor though?

You can always get a removable jack base, I have used this with success... https://www.northerntool.com/shop/to...c70a5d5905dd39

If you are picking up, but one and take with you, very easy to install with a coupe of wrenches. That way you will have it. Measure your tailgate length and install you stinger and measure that. The jack is maybe 4"-6" behind the ball. I can measure tomorrow for exact, if needed.

We have the pro series WDH from Escape on our 2017 Tacoma with our 2016 Escape 19 and if I have the jack handle in the right position the tailgate clears fine.

The high cost is because Rpcart87 is in Canada. Everything here is more expensive, mid you that is also Canadian $. Probably also at a dealer.
A few years ago I had to replace a fuel pump on a Sentra I had and the dealer cost here was over $600 just for the part, I got one online from the US and even with dollar difference, shipping and import fee's paid around $250 to have it shipped to my door.
