Less is More!
As an extension of our government shutdown, which otherwise might have been 'business as usual' south of the border, we are locked out of OUR National Forest Campgrounds. So we "dispersed", as the USFS calls it, several days ago and discovered that less can indeed be more. The first photo shows our 17B squeezed into a tight spot not suited for most RVs. The other photos show the rewards: the cascading stream was 10 meters out the rear dinette window, and the meadow vista a bit further out the front driver-side. Just us and the wild things...Glenn.

Now that looks like the kind of camping I used to experience as a kid.
Sometimes being locked out has great benefits - beautiful spot you found. How can you not enjoy real natural camping.

About 30 miles - a couple of miles upriver from Upper Payette Lake, north of McCall.

Great looking spot. Lots of nice stuff in that neck of the woods.

I heard that since the federal government has closed down the Grand Canyon and have turned off the flow in the river, there is an environmental group looking for volunteers to help pick up trash along the dry riverbed before they turn the river back on.

I take it from the smiley that you're joking, but it wouldn't surprise me if you could turn off the river given today's prevalence of hydro electric and diversions for irrigation.
And taking such an opportunity for cleanup is an excellent idea! Even if you weren't serious.
My brother was a meteorologist for environment canada when the terrorists took down the twin towers and air travel was effectively shut down for 2 days. He said it was an excellent opportunity to study the effects of air travel, since they could see what it was like without...
