Did the welder examine or comment on the recall fix? The recall work looks so minor compared to the recent work.
Were the stabilizers reattached with bolts or welds?
Thanks

They were able to slip a piece of iron in and weld it across the break. The only option because of the elbow. If the elbow were removed the tank would have to be replaced.
The elbow is glued into the tank. The tank is inside the trailer. Part of the tank is in the galley cabinet. So the entire galley would have had to be removed and maybe the wet bath. I discussed the option with two different companies.
Thus we reinforced and beef up both across the trailer and 12 inches either side. Front to back.
We talked about the recall fix area. As that is the most likely area to break on any trailer. On the bend. We looked over the entire frame from wheel forward and found no areas of concern.
The stabilizers were welded on and removed. Another cross member was welded to the frame and under the existing cross member tying both sides of trailer togetherThan the stabilizers were re welded in place. Plus trusses and steel panel plates tying frame and support all together.
Everyone involved believes the frame is much stronger than original. All total five experienced people and two companies were involved. 12 hours of welding.
I towed the trailer home at 60 miles per hour and everything appears good.
