out and about

Well after 3 years I'm going to get my 2014 21 out this year. Sad to say I have less than 5000 miles on it. Tires look good and I plan to put grease in the dexter ez lube axles. Bearings should be good after sitting so long??I'll pump grease into fitting till new grease shows up, that's correct right?? Thanks for any input... Oh ya their the orignal tires but had them covered and don't see any checking.

You may be pushing it

9 year old tires are ripe; maybe over ripe. Depending how far you intend to travel, I'd suggest considering replacing them. The rubber compounds and additives age out, even when sheltered from the sun.

Spin each wheel as you s l o w l y pump the grease in. Doing it fast and not turning risks blowing out the seal and uneven grease distribution within.

I would really consider replacing the tires. We also have a 2014 21C and when we got the trailer had very low mile on it and even though the date code said they were old I did not change them because they looked new. Eventually was a bad idea, one tire the belt came off the tire and knocked several holes in the fiberglass and there are marks in wheel well not sure I could ever get out.
We got the Goodyear Endurance when it comes to the tires. Plus make sure they jack the trailer up the proper way to change the tires, do not jack up on the axle.

Changing gears we are trying to figure out the history of 1st Gen 21C, what are the last 3 digits of your VIN number? See if yours is older or newer then ours.

All the best, smooth travels.

Only trip planned is Quake Lake around West Yellowstone. It's only 400 miles one way. I'll check on tires, thanks for your comments. Last # of vin is 68909.

Another 21 (2013) owner last year was doing one last trip before selling and had a blowout less than 100 miles from home. Original tires and it caused a good amount of damage to a wheel well. Don't consider new tires- just do it!
