Just heard double digits warm for Monday and continuing through the entire week ..... hope that's it for the winter

Though the temps are good for it here now, that last warm spell melted the base, and the most recent snows are really not deep enough. I need to head west to get good snow. I miss skiing out my back door.

I use both, but snowshoes are for the most part way too slow for my liking, thus my preference for skis. Snowshoes are great for around camp and times when distance is not a priority.

I know, crazy eh? I just looked, and the forecast high for Tuesday is 10°C (50°F). From jacket to T-shirt weather in a few days.

I went out cross-country skiing the last 2 days (highs of -19 with a slight breeze) and it wasn't bad. Today we're -32 with the wind chill and I'm staying in the house. Went out to bow snow last. Ice and came code to "frost biting" some fingers and toes - -27 when I came in. Not fun anymore.

Planning on going to Canmore the first week in April to have some fun st the Nordic Centre. I was up there about a month ago and the conditions were phenomenal!!

But I'm ready for spring. I'm now booked for an Apr 12 Orientation/pickup. Surely I won't have to cancel for bad weather again!

Down here in Western North Carolina, winter has been a non issue this year. Two weeks ago, I camped locally for 4 days. I just haven't been able to justify heading south with the Escape for warm weather when it has been warm right here. We are supposed to get snow by Sunday morning, but chances are it will melt before I need to shovel. Glad I moved from the Northeast many years ago!

Fond memories from 50 years ago on a 30" rock slide into water around Asheville- even with the water moccasins. That is a beautiful area I hope to visit some day soon.

Glenn,
Will that rhubarb be ready by May? Bring some to the rally and I'll take some home if it is allowed by Customs. I love Rhubarb Pie..

Should be ready for pie in May. Have to grow your own strawberries.

Ours is still tucked away asleep in the frozen ground. It does not grow well at -20°.

Rhubarb

We only have three plants and they are struggling to keep from getting beat out by thr red raspberries. I'm going to trim the berry canes shortly, it will come along but not for a while.

My rhubarb is barely waking up. I don't know if I'll have any by May, but if you return through Washington there are some great places for Rhubarb pie. Whidbey Pies Cafe is one.

First nice day

Had some full sun today so took Lightning out to stretch her legs and empty the tanks.

Some of you party hounds will recognize the gate.

Eight weeks till the rally, I am starting a "give away" bin of items no longer needed to bring. I have some extra plastic dividers for the Dometic RMD crisper I'll bring, a new front wheel for the tongue jack, awning tie down kit for the manual awning, new also.

Is that the highly traveled path to the Sage pub?

What a great idea... I'll have to go through my "really have to have it... haven't really used it" stuff.

Did anyone respond on this? Spirit Ridge Resort, right next door is excellent. It has a lot of very nice suites, have stayed there in the past.Spirit Ridge at NK'MIP Resort | 4.5* All-Suites Resort in Osoyoos, BC
