Back home after another great rally..
Weather co-operated most of the time---pretty soaking wet walk to the pub and quite a few big wind gusts..
None of us were flooded out but the lake was rather high...
And I didn't come home with a ton of mods to do!! Only a couple..... I must be slowing down in my old age..
Anyway was great to see everyone again...
Until next year...

2017 Escape Trailer Customer Appreciation Rally
A huge thank you to Reace, Tammy, Marlene, Dennis, all the rest of the ETI Crew, and folks who volunteered. As Dave said, Reece's story about ETI's beginnings and early struggles made my appreciation of how hard Reace and Tammy worked (and still do) to enable us to have these beautiful trailers to enjoy even greater.

Did anyone record Reace's speach? I for one would sure like to hear what both he and Tammy had to say. Always interesting!

Thanks to ETI
Just wanted to add my thank you to ETI and all their staff for another great rally. Great company, weather was perfect, and the food was awesome.

First Rally
This was our first rally and we had a great time! ETI did an awesome job putting it all together. The weather was beautiful! (We missed the big wind storm we heard about, since we arrived Friday afternoon).
Lots of delicious food at the pot luck dinner and breakfast....the pancake/french toast breakfast Saturday morning was a nice surprise as well! Lots of beautiful trailers to tour through during the Trailer Tour. It's hard to see them all though since one could be socializing for a long time!
We look forward to attending next year again!

I've moved to the lakefront, where I finally have wifi that works. Even have some beer left in the cooler.

I had wifi that works down there, but I also got sap dripping from the trees. I was in site 111, left this morning (Monday). FYI.

It's nice to be able to stay around when most people clear out,

I've hung around at gatherings when it was over and everyone left. I found my lower lip quivering... where in the 'el did everyone go? IF I had to choose between the two, I much prefer to show up in advance of other folks coming to a gathering YMMV

We have done both. No waiting at the dump and no traveling when many places are closed, and not in the going-home from the weekend traffic. Sundays are nice for visiting an area and/or just sitting around. Or Monday holidays!

I totally agree, Donna. I find it kinda sad when everyone leaves. It's likely the synergy has been sucked out...So we like to get there in advance to set up and greet people.

We left Osoyoos yesterday morning, stopped in Oroville to retrieve our wine and arrived safely in Kennebec, SD, 1509 miles away for for a well rested evening tonite. Hope to be home by wednesday. BTW, the fridge fix for the hose seemed to have worked, on #3 all the way on propane and never got higher than 37 in refrigerator. It was a great show at the rally.

All I can say is staying after everyone leaves from a gathering is just "weird." If you have plans to go someplace else, other than "home," that may make a difference. I still think anticipation is half the fun. There's something about those conversations with others that starts with... where are you going from here and those people have almost zero clue. Maybe south, maybe north... just need to be home in two months that told me as a wage-earner-worker-bee-with-limited vacation... smack down!

3.). When trying to source Robertson head screws, Jim Bennett suggested that I simply go to the local hardware store (which is a must see, BTW). EVERY SINGLE SCREW in the place has a Robertson head; not a Phillips head in the store that I could find. Canada is indeed a progressive country with lovely folks and outstanding hardware.
4.) And finally, never ever try to dissuade a rally attendee from enthusiastically raving about their homes on wheels (even though you're also a "true believer") and you go looking for the opportunity for a gripe session, you better look elsewhere. This was one bunch of happy campers!

Had I not somewhere else to be after the rally, I would like to have stayed a few days to check out the area. I don't mind it when everyone leaves.
Personally, large gatherings aren't my thing. I came to the rally mainly because I was going to be out here anyway and could fit it into my itinerary. I'm glad I came, though; I got to see a few friends and make new ones. It will probably be a while before I make it back there again.
