NICE! We hope to also travel all the way to Newfoundland when we are closer to retirement. Sounds like an awesome trip!

I believe a Discovery Pass will get you into the parks but does not include camping fees. Still, it is wonderful!

You should feel welcome to bring your current trailer to the rally and camp in it. Every year there are several in your situation--timing wise. There are always dozens of non-Escapes there, since the park is not "bought out" for the gathering.
Also you would want to tour more than most, so don't feel that you can only visit during the designated time slots. Most owners will welcome visitors any time they are home in their trailer, especially with the door open.
Good luck, Bill

$35/night plus 10% discount?
Well Fuddy Duddy...
I just got off the phone with the campground trying to book a weeks stay. They told me the rate is $35/night with a 10% discount, but only for the 3 days of the rally. She said there had been a misunderstanding and $35/night with a 10% discount is the correct rate. I know PGDriver posted he got the $30/night...I wonder what gives

I've been doing my reservation via email and now I question the rate I'm going to get. The interesting thing is that they state they attached rate sheet which wasn't there on my email. I started the email chain with a statement that the rate was $30/day they never questioned that so neither did I.

Why is that, is there a change in pricing for the Parks?

Canada's National Parks are waving user fees for our 150th birthday in 2017. Everyone gets in free, even you folks from down south.
Camping fees will still be in effect. An annual pass is $134. I just bought one, so not a bad savings.

Jim, is this an annual pass for camping? Or do you mean that we'll save $134 for not having the buy the annual park entry pass for 2017?

No, this pass is just for park entry. You are allowed to travel trough a National Park at no cost (with the exception of the Icefields Parkway), but are not allowed to stop without a pass. It is not enforced that strongly at all, but I know a few people who have been ticketed.

So to cover them all at once: - Drive through
National Parks which have highways passing through them (e.g. Yellowhead through Jasper and Trans-Canada through Banff) always allow traffic to drive through at no charge - not just in 2017 - as long as you stay on that highway and don't stop (to use any kind of facility, even just a picnic area). So if you're just driving through Banff on the way to Osoyoos and don't stop in the park, no fee or pass needed, any year.
- Park Entry
To use day-use areas, or to enter parks which you don't need to go through to follow a major highway, you normally need to pay for an entry pass (pay for the day, or use the $134/yr pass)... but in 2017 to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday entry is free.
- Camping
Campgrounds within National Parks have fees per night, in addition to any park entry fee. No change in that for 2017. So if you stay overnight in a National Park during your trip to the 2017 Rally, you won't need to pay for entry to the park, but you will still pay for the campsite.

I heard that if you bought an annual pass this year it was valid for 2 years. Is yours valid for 2 years?

Yes, the year you paid for, plus the free year of 2017 (when you don't need it), so it expires two years from the month of purchase.
