Dave, here I was wondering what Glenn had to do/say to his (former) neighbors to get them all to move that far away from him in that picture. But now I see that he is such a folk hero that special sites are reserved only for his use.

We are happy to have been invited.
Where they put us is not important.
If far from the main events so much the better ...walking is good.

Elbow room
Remember the line from Disney's Davy Crockett when they were discussing moving farther west? "Plenty of land in Kentuck." I thought of that when I was in the Shields River valley on our way back from Osoyoos. I misspoke, it's Montana not Wyoming and its Big Country. About 10 miles between campsites but only 2 miles between coyotes. Give me land, lots of land, neath the starry skies above, don't fence me in.

I bring a bike with me as walking would take you a couple of hours to make the circuit, the place is huge.

I takes me hours to do a partial loop of just one section. I keep getting distracted, but that's a good thing.

I think we have a lot of time on our hands, three days worth. No rush.

Our favorite week of the year. Just booked four nights.
This'll be our fourth straight years and it's a minimum of 2500 miles each way. Almost as far as Jim Norman.
There are others from New England and Florida who commute even farther.
Looking forward to seeing you all and whatever Tammy and Reace have in store for us all.

Love Montana. I'd move there tomorrow, but my wife couldn't take the winters.

Yes, seeing all the Escapes lined up is a sight to see, reminds me of the swallows at Capistrano... Swallows Legend - Mission San Juan Capistrano

We have it on our calendar...and are thinking of departing the Rally to head east through Canada to do some more camping. Any suggestions for great sites and sights?

We are thinking of heading east too. We were married on Canada's 100th birthday. 2017 is Canada's 150 birthday so what better way to celebrate our 50th than start with the rally and keep going. National Parks are supposed to be free for the event and we are going to try and hit as many as possible, all the way to Newfoundland and back.

My little Escape getaway won't be ready until Sept but I do intend to come up for the rally - stay at a local hotel and head for the factory afterwards. For those of you who have gone before, what type of events/gatherings take place? I am very interested in chatting and touring your trailers for ideas as I work through my build sheet.

Fridays are registration and a dinner provided by Escape, Saturdays are wine tours in the area and owner trailer open houses, Saturday night is pot luck dinner. Sundays is coffee and pot luck breakfast. We try to arrive a couple of days early to see the sights, very lovely area.

This is a great way to figure things out for yourself. If you wish to partake in any of the activities, make sure you register with Escape so they know what numbers to prepare for.
