New ETI Program - “Switch & Hitch”

We received an email from ETI this morning with word of a new Escape trailer trade-in program they call “Switch & Hitch.” They offer a guaranteed trade-in value for the Escape you own when you purchase a new model. Interesting.

Follow the link below for the details, but the basics are that your trade-in Escape would need to be less than 7 years old, have “minimal non-factory modifications,” and be in reasonable condition.

You can list your current Escape on their website or anywhere else while you wait for your new Escape to be built for you. If you sell before your new Escape is completed, any amount above ETI’s guaranteed trade-in value is yours to keep.

They will deliver your new Escape and pick up your trade-in too.

Trade in

We had 2 hallmark slide in, pop up Cuchara XL 9.5 model truck campers. They had the same policy but would guarantee your trade in would be the exact price you paid for the last purchase. Good policy.

I wondered how long they would actively promote used trailers on their website. It was a very generous program to be able to post used trailers. Still, it was probably not the best way to keep new trailer sales humming along, particularly now that they often have trailers in stock and have vastly reduced lead times. I am editing to note that we bought our trailer from a party listing it on the Escape site and canceled our order...so I guess I am keenly aware of how that situation worked for Escape.

This program is excellent for someone who wants a new trailer without any selling-a-trailer headaches. It also shows good out-of-the-box business thinking.

Nice but ours is too old EVEN if we wanted to take advantage of this. Love our 2. But for those that can and want seems to e a sweet deal. Just depends on the appraisal offers that the appraiser co es up with . If like automotive ones they tend to lowball so go into it with eyes open n your ducks all lined up in a row

Might interest some folks. Personally I can’t see where a new trailer would be any better than what we
have. So I guess I’m not a target customer.

So, if Escape takes a trade-in trailer from a US customer, I suppose they'll need to import it back to Canada.

Seems like the killer is the seven year rule. Buying a new trailer every seven years doesn’t make much sense financially.

It got me to thinking though,
Anyone know what a factory new 15 B was going for in 2013 ?

From the Wayback Machine…assuming an exchange rate of 0.96 that would put a 15B at $18,720 USD back in 2013.

Thanks for posting the prices I remember when they built out the 15s and had three of them on the lot. It took a few weeks to move them. We had our 2010 19 by then. Reace always said the 15s and 13s were the hardest to build.
