Good to know there is some sensibility and decency left in this country.

We were camping at Acadia National Park one year and my wife started having seizures. She ended up staying a few days in the hospital in Bangor, ME (Eastern Maine Medical Center), and thankfully the hospital let me stay in our camper (a Scamp back then) in their parking lot the whole time she was in the hospital. Glad I had the solar panel on top! They also let my Sister stay in her 13' Scamp next to us.

The Campus Park & Ride in Philadelphia used to allow RV's. It was a fenced in lot with spots up against a warehouse loading dock but it had water, electric and a dump station. My parents were able to stay there when my nephew was in Children's Hospital for an extended stay. It was very convenient as there were shuttles to the hospitals. Unfortunately they are no longer open.

Wondering if anyone needing to go to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix was able to overnight a couple days in their huge on-campus parking area. Their webside only offers linkage to nearby commercial RV camping.

Thanks, Kyther, for your private message.
Hello and thanks for telling me your experience at the Mayo Clinic. Very discouraging to say the least, and seems incredibly unreasonable of them. I have been looking and planniing for a possible future trip there for my wife. Seemed to me like using our Escape trailer as a convenient place for us at their huge parking lot made a lot of sense. Their strict policy, assuming nothing has changed, is very odd, considering the expense involved and how important they are for out of state patients.

On our last hospital trips, to Scottsdale area, some 7+ years ago we stayed off Route 87 at the Eagle View RV Resort, in Fort McDowell. Off season daily rates back then for full hookups including a dump station at every site, was 30 bucks. Everything was first rate. We had no trouble, dehitched, drove to the clinics. Nothing there but big boy super bus RV’s far as you could see. (Probably going to the nearby casino.) We had reserved for 7 days but when Nancy’s planned procedure at the Laser Spine Institute fell through there was no problem leaving early and getting a credit to our card. Guessing their price has since gone up.
