Just re-reading this post and wonder about inverters. I have the inverter setup in my 5.0, how or does that affect my using a generator with the built-in inverter? Does the inverter on the generator always stay on or do I turn it on/off when needed like the trailer inverter? Thanks.

The Honda is a generator which produces DC power. Its inverter converts the DC power to AC. It is an integral part of the Honda, and there is no way to run the Honda without its inverter. The inverter in the trailer uses your on-board batteries as the source of DC power and converts it to AC. The only time you use the trailer inverter is when NOT connected to shore power and you want to use something that needs AC power. If you are using the Honda to power your trailer, it is essentially the same thing as being connected to shore power.

Thanks for that explanation.
