water pressure regulator
I don't think it was operator error but my 30 dollar Renato water pressure regulator will not adjust after about a year. Any brands you like ?

I thought that about whatever regulator I have, but it turned out the park pressure was quite low. Next place we camped, I had to turn it way down again. I usually try and keep the trailer pressure around 35 to 40 psi.
edit: its a Renator M11-0660R

Any chance you froze it? I destroyed a couple of them winter camping before I switched back to the cheap preset versions.

Hi Jon, my water service hose did freeze up on us in Texas, I'm trying to think if I used it after the Texas trip. Do the presets last for awhile ? Good to hear from you. Orange Beach for Febuary and March. Thx Jon

They will perch water that can freeze if you don’t get them drained or dried out somehow. I always shake mine out vigorously and leave it lay in the sun in the late fall and have not had any problem. I do use one quite often.
I camped at Kentucky Horse park once and started to hookup to the hose bib without a regulator. An older fellow with about a $500,000 motor home hurried over and asked me about a regulator. He said do not turn the water on, there’s a hundred pounds of pressure on that line. Saved my butt and my water system. I built an adjustable regulator setup from parts with a regular Watts regulator for a house but it was cumbersome and too heavy so now I have the standard $30 one or so that I have adjusted to 40PSI.

I usually open hose bibs for a couple seconds before attaching my hose, mostly to verify the water is clear, but it also gives me a bit of a warning if there's high pressure.

I open them before hooking up water for the same reason. I almost always need the regulator. Over the years I have found, for me, that the fixed pressure regulators last longer than the adjustable.

When I was at the horse park after I was warned, I put just the hose, no filter, on the hose bib and pointed the hose at the road and opened the valve. That water came out of my 24 foot white camco hose and went about 40 feet. Then, I put the filter on and throttled back to a heavy trickle and filled the tank from there, choosing not to use the hookup that day. I didn’t use it in 2019 when I was last there either. Just not necessary and even though I had an adjustable regulator the second time, I chose discretion.
