Possible tour of a 17B in the Spokane area
I've been reading the public forum for quite a while and joined earlier this year. It has been a great resource and I appreciate all the experience and perspectives. My long-term plan to get a travel trailer is getting closer with my recent retirement and successful launching of one child with one to go...
Since we can't visit the factory, I contacted ETI about seeing a 17B in the Spokane, WA area. They sent me a contact for a larger one, which I may still try to see. I searched the forum members and found a 17B in Spokane Valley, but cannot contact the owner as I am too new on the forum to message anyone. I'd like to put a deposit down for delivery next year, but really think I should see one first...
Please message me if you have one you are willing to show. Thanks in advance!

You can PM them. Just don't include an email address, a phone number or link to a web page.
You can write out portions of a phone number or address to defeat the filter.

I tried to private message, but the system rejected it as I was too new. I don't know if it looks for number of posts or passage of time.

Number of posts.. after ten, you'll be a trusted member. PMs can then be sent with hyperlinks. Until you're a trusted member, even your posts will be moderated if they have hyperlinks.
Hope this helps.

So, you are saying that you can't send a PM, with or without hyperlinks, until you've got ten posts under your belt?

No, PMs can be sent at anytime, but PMs with hyperlinks are restricted to trusted members. Too often, new members send PMs with email addresses, those are hyperlinks.

Good. Cause I think that's what I said in post #2.
I think what can happen is a member may have a hyperlink in a signature and aren't aware that it will be automatically attached and then block the PM.

If you can't find anything closer, you would be welcome to take a look at my 2010 17B here in the Seattle area.

Thank you for the offer. Thanks to a local owner, I get to see one this afternoon. HURRAH! I might check in when I'm in your area, as it would be great to see more than one before doing the order sheet.
And thanks to people who post information and opinions about options, modifications, tools needed, useful equipment, etc.

Glad you found one local. Let me know if you decide you want to take a look at ours. However, since mine is 10yrs old, it might not fully translate to what Escape is offering now with the latest version. They changed the mold on the new ones and so they look a little different.
If weight matters at all keep in mind the older ones tended to be lighter than the new ones. I had the deposit down on a new 17B until I found out Escape's weight has increased quite a bit on the newest models. We are towing with a Rav4 so the new ones would have been too heavy. I was using the "trailer weights in the real world" document here on this forum thinking the new ones would weigh the same as what the document showed. What I missed is that all of the 17Bs in the document are of the older model.

That would be fun. I'll message you with contact info. My tour of the 17b yesterday was really helpful and informative. Thank you Colin and Peter!
