Alternative to Dometic A/C and Heat Thermostat?

I've had it with the Dometic touch thermostat in our 2018 5.0TA not working. It comes on by itself and is difficult to get to work. I did a search and the only one recommended is a $250 thermostat. Does anyone have a more reasonable alternative? Thanks.

Like so many others, my Dometic Capacitance Touch Thermostat failed. The replacement from Dometic failed to work at all. The $250 turned out to be a bargain, because it works when I ask it to, not when it decides to.

So a little more research indicates that a conventional RV thermostat cannot be used because the dometic uses a proprietary control box mounted in the A/C roof unit. Here is a video of a guy that has apparently replaced the control box, which has allowed him to use a house thermostat:

If you are referring to the MicroAir Easy Touch, I admit it is expensive, but the advantage is it works, and has both WiFi & Bluetooth capability. I've been pleased with mine...
