Convection Microwave Install/Repair

We took delivery of our Escape 19 today and had a few issues to deal with. One which I am a little unsure of is the convection Microwave that seems to have slipped out of its mounting bracket. Does anyone know how this is supposed to mount. It seems like the installer failed to properly install the screws on the mounting bracket, but I really can’t tell. Unfortunately, we don’t seem to have gotten a manual on it.

Thoughts? Just take the bracket off, mount it to the micro and reinstall? The microwave is a little beat up…. Emailed Escape and called, but no response.

I have a photo, but can’t figure out how to attach it…

That sounds frustrating and not the ideal way to receive your trailer.

And since this is directly related to Escape's build quality and not a component failure I would hope they resolve this issue promptly for you.

I would definitely appreciate an update on how this works out for you. Also more info on the 2 other issues you mentioned having would be appreciated.

Heard back from Escape. Yes indeed, the micro is supposed to be attached to the bracket. I’ll tear into this tomorrow. They are sending a replacement window gutter for the one that is falling off and I managed to fix the battery bracket so the batteries stay in place. Should be a better way to hold the batteries….

Going through the systems little by little. Was a little confused by the Monitor Panel. Although the battery readout indicates “%”, I am pretty sure it reads in Volts when checked…. Couldn’t figure out why I only had 13% battery capacity when I have been charging with shore power (20 A) for 4 hrs…

Old dog, new tricks…

I'm just down the road from you in Ogunquit and have aE19 on order to pick up in the spring. Did you have your camper delivered here in Maine? I was just wondering if all of the bouncing around on the delivery trailer loosened things up or if they were just never installed properly.

I think it was a little bit of both. Ours was delivered to Chicopee, MA, about 3 hrs from us… Delivery driver was very helpful, but kind of indicated a rough ride… lots of saw dust and dirt in the trailer. Seemed like an accumulation from lots of vibrations and such
