kitchen sink valve in a 2014 Escape...

does anyone know what sort of valve that is in a 2014 kitchen sink? it turns 90 degrees only from off to full on, and when I took it apart from the top, there was a sort of ratcheting plastic nut that held in the core, the core had two o'rings around it, and a sort of cup washer in the bottom.

i'm getting some water dribbling around the cold water valve stem when its turned on. this will puddle at the base of the faucet and the sink flange, and drip on the storage compartment under the sink.

John, it sounds like you are talking about the faucet for the kitchen sink, correct? If so, rather than repairing it, you might find it easier to simply go to your hardware store and buy an inexpensive standard kitchen sink faucet of the style you prefer. That's what I did with my '09 19 and I've been very happy with it.

I don't have the tools for doing Plex plumbing. But I might consider it.

You don't need tools; can do it by hand- at least my 2014 allowed me to replace the cheap RV faucet at kitchen & bath sinks with good residential faucets without tools or Teflon tape.

If you can’t do it by hand, there are tool less pex fittings.

'shark bites' ? I wouldn't trust those in a trailer application, too much vibration.

anyways, looks like the pex pipes are crimped to threaded bits that screw onto the ends of the faucet valve inlet pipes.

I have one place I know I will have to remove lines, so I used them there, and they have held up.

if I ever have to do any plex work, I'll buy the plex band crimper, its not that expensive.

I do have crimp tools; this is just a spot I’m pretty sure I’ll be into again, so used shark bite, and they have been reliable.

John,
I replaced my kitchen faucet sometimes ago. All you have to do is loosen the wing nut, insert a right size silicone washer inside the wing nut and hand tighten the nut. Make sure it is tight.

Hi Ross no plex tools either . Just got a new residential facet . As for shark bites did use one to hook up a shut off valve on the plex many years ago on toilet line . Mine was so short , that was what had to be done . Never any leaks but if it did it is in shower . I think I have pics in my albums . How you doing ? Pat
