Monitor Panel - Battery Status.

We just got our 17B and we are in the middle of nowhere in Nevada reading the Owner’s Manual. I checked the battery level and it is C. The owner’s manual say this means “ Charge”.
Does this mean I need to charge the battery or that it is charged or that it is charging?

If you travelled from Sumas, WA to NV and don't have solar you need to charge your batteries now. We had a 17B with no solar and 4 days was about it.

Charge is a poor choice of words. Should be “Charged”. Attached is the voltage range that KIB indicates for each letter on their monitor. It’s not a precise measurement but gets the job done for most users.

PS...low at 6V or less makes no sense to me.

Make sure you are also not driving with your fridge set on 12 volts. The more you drive the more the fridge will suck the power out of the battery(s).

Their tow vehicle should be charging the batteries while driving assuming they have their vehicle wired for charging.

I installed a Victron BMV-712 which has bluetooth connection to my cell phone. I can watch the exact amount of charge my tow vehicle is putting back into the trailer batteries while I'm on the road. After an overnight stop, the trailer batteries are fully charged within a couple of hours of getting on the road in the morning. Actually, they are mostly charged after about 30min, but the last few amps slow down to a trickle and take a while. I typically only use about 5-8amps for an overnight. Most of that is running the furnace a few times and the water pump for a shower in the morning. Fridge runs on propane while on the road.
