Pump issue, help!

Having an issue with my new 19, wonder if anyone out there has encountered the same.
Water is sputtering when running on pump, pump does not turn off.
I have watched Reases video regarding the set screw on the pump and followed his instructions, still does not stop running.

Have a camping trip planned soon, would hate to use my new escape as a $40,000 tent!

Make sure you don’t have any debris in the filter bowl on the input side of the pump. And are you sure the water heater is full and the pump is not running to get it full (6 gallons).

Start with a full tank and fill your lines with water. then turn on pump.

Thangs C&G and Cpaharley, yes, hot water tank is full (water at the hot water relief valve) took the cap and screen off the water pump, no debris there...didn’t expect any as this is a first time use.
Water is still sputtering after filling the grey tank and dumping.

Escape is not returning my calls...Any other suggestions?

Remove the aerator on the faucet and check for debris.

First time use doesn’t mean anything. Others have reported “construction debris” in the filter on brand new trailers. I would suggest connecting to city water with hose, pressurizing the trailer water lines fully, turn off spigot to stop city water flow, and then try pump again. If it still does the same thing, follow Reace’s video instructions again. If that doesn’t work, it may be a faulty pump.

Has the pump ever worked properly or is this your first time trying it? This will help in troubleshooting if we knew it worked properly previously.

On edit: Never mind...I see you say in post #4 "first time use"

You have the fresh tank full, right? Did you bleed the air out of the HW heater? Do you have the winterizing T's installed and if so are they in the right position?

Sounds like the plumbing system has a leak somewhere if the other items don’t clean it up. If the plumbing is tight the pump can remain on all night and won’t kick in. These sometimes can be a bugger to locate.

Any outside showers that maybe open, fill the fresh tank again and disconnect the water source and try again to pump water out of the fresh tank. flush the toilet and see what happens.....

This is what always fixes mine. I don't know why I get so much debris in my kitchen faucet but it happens quite a lot.

We had issues with poor / no water flow and the pump jockeying on an off or running continually.
We found both the pump screen filter and the faucet aerators plugged up with plastic construction debris . After cleaning pump filter & faucet aerators , we flushed system and adjusted pressure switch . Problem solved !

Thanks for everyone’s responses. Don’t have an outside shower, checked all filters and were clean, The water valves are all correct.
I gave up and took it to a local RV dealer, hope they can find the problem.

Well, the RV repair facility found the problem. Strainer housing had a hairline crack and was sucking air. Also, the pump was sucking worse than the strainer housing.
Both were replaced, frustrating on a new trailer when Escape will only pay for the cost price of parts and 1 hour labour.

Thanks for everyone’s help!

I give up. What do you think they should pay?

I replaced the pump strainer on both my Scamp and Casita due to cracks in the pump screen cover
I now carry a spare pump screen housing in my trailer’s parts bin
Cheap insurance !!

PS ; Glad they found the problem and got it fixed !!

I think this is fair.

Again the problem is manufactured parts added to the shell. I haven't heard anyone complain about a rotten floor or stains on the roof from leaks.

Good idea. I was troubleshooting my neighbors Class A water system for lack of flow. Found the culprit to be the clear plastic pump strainer cover with a crack sucking air.
