Twist lock to 15Amp adaptor
Hi all
As I will be getting the detachable cord option - I will buy a short adaptor for when our escape is parked in the driveway being stored.
I found this $15 one on Amazon (same one is also on eBay)
Would it be sufficient, or for some sort of safety reason (?) should I maybe buy a more expensive one?
https://www.amazon.com/HQRP-Electric.../dp/B01BNPVUHM
Thanks.

That is an excellent price - you can't purchase the individual parts for less. The only reason I made my own short adapter from parts is I use it as a way to carry a spare 30 amp twist lock female connector I can use if the one on the 30 amp cord failed.

I've already got 2 of the 30A RV extension cords, so I think I'll pick up one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=ATVPDKIKX0DER to serve as a backup for the main cord.

So unless you carry a 30 amp extension cord (?) how could it function as a spare for the stock removable power cord?
Just wondering.

I do not have a spare cord nor the twist lock setup. On our last outing our trailer cord reached the power bush but not much more. I could have reset the trailer but I was leveled up so nice where I was. This got me thinking that an additional 30 amp cord might be a good investment. I could delete the 50 foot 12 ga. cord I've carried and go to a 25 or 30 foot 30 amp and adapt down if needed without much weight change. I also used my 50 amp to 30 amp adapter when I encountered a worn out (very loose) 30 amp receptacle. I was glad I had it.

I always bring at least one of my extension cords along. If I am going to Ontario Provincial Parks or Michigan State Parks, I bring 2 along and have needed both, along with the built in. I lucked out as a local RV dealer had the 25' 30A cords on sale for $25 each.

That's a good price. I'm not in a hurry, I'll spot a deal somewhere along the line and pull the trigger when it comes. I know I'm good on my next two outings.

I carry a spare 25' 30A cord, along with a spare water and sewer hose. When travelling with friends, we like to orient our RVs in a social setup, either facing each other, or in an L shaped setup. This often means one of us is not near enough to the hookups to connect without them. Plus, having a spare is nice.
I only carry a short 15A cord, and this is mostly for getting the small electric kettle to reach the table outside, for morning coffee.
I could get a 30A twist to 15A, a 50A to 30A, and an additional longer 15A cord, but my plan is to not become a hardware store. Many would not likely bring the spares that I do either, we each have our own styles.

The OP was only looking for something for when the trailer is sitting in driveway storage. If they are like me, there is no 30A available, hence the need for an adapter.

Bob, I just always use the heavier cables and one of these adapters.

When we picked up in April, one of these adapters was included as a standard item by ETI. We did not ask for it, or pay extra for it. It was not part of the Starter Kit. So, No need to bring an extra.

I'd rather not expose my standard 30 amp cable but use a sacrificial 15 amp extension cord with the previous adapters. That way I have a back up hookup system with me just in case I "forget to bring the standard 30 amp cable" which has happened.

Oh cool. Fingers crossed we are as fortunate
But we won't need it 'till home so good to know the $15 option is decent.
May get one as an extra spare.

30 amp cord
When we used our Snoozy. It had a 25ft 30amp 10 Ga. cord attached to the front of the RV .With Escape it will be in the back of the camper plus we carry a 12 ga. 20 amp cord with adapters for 30 amp . With the Snoozy all electric we had to watch our electrical needs .shut off water heater or maybe the A/C for a while . When using the extra 20 amp cord .With 30 amps no problems with everything running .I can't wait for Nov to get our 21 Escape Jim
