Yay! Yeah, give your posterior a break from all that driving! Dang!
How long are you going to take to get back home? Another mad dash through Tornado Alley?

Rock 'n' Roll? After such a mad dash? Please tell me R & R is some sort of slang for sleeping.

Different route, so no rush, a more leisurely return trip.

Now that BlackJack is home I was able to download some trip pictures. The first one was taken right before liftoff here at home, the second was in a cg in Seligman, Arizona and the third was taken in Redmond, Oregon, I believe that is Mt. St Helens as seen from our cg.

When we stopped in Sioux Falls, SD we found that the awning had somehow come loose. The black strap had unlocked the lock on the end. I opened the awning and somehow got it back closed, other than a tear, there was little damage. I suggest that one take the extra step and securing the locking tab to prevent this from happening. I also lost my heater vent cover which was held with2 small springs.

We left Sioux Falls, SD and arrived home the next day. Here is the picture of the sundown there and Franklin and Hershey anxious to go home. After averaging close to 13 mpg on the way out, I managed 14.5 mpg on return trip, keeping the Ram Hemi at 62 mph seemed to be the sweet spot, at 1800-2000 rpm. Total 7000 miles over 10 days of driving at average speed of 55 mph and 6 non travel days while stopped. Now to wait for the gas bills.....

I'm thinking that black strap should be wound into the awning at least two feet away from the latch. I've been doing it right at the edge, but that's going to stop.

You would not be able to see Mt St Helens from Redmond Oregon unless you were flying. Probably Mt Batchelor. There is no peak on St Helens since 1980.

We center ours in the middle of the awning when retracting it, because they said to do so during orientation. I guess that eliminates one issue.

I think it was in the video of Tammy and the awning, it was mentioned to move the black strap around. Not always in the same place during storage. Otherwise you'll end up with a permanent divot in the fabric. You don't need to move it much, an inch or two off center. The important part, is not always in the same place.

Thanks for sharing your pictures and trip, Jim! So exciting to see the USA! I'll bet you are glad to be home for a bit and not driving ...until your next venture out!
We might be heading out your way on our way to Chilliwack if you will be around at that time. 85 days til we head out... And YES we are counting!!

Charlie and Lucy,
Anytime you are near here in Pennsylvania, I'm up for camping. Gettysburg is about an hour away and always interesting.
