Oregon Bound!
Loaded up the Cottage and the Suzuki and am catching the first Coho sailing to Port Angeles in the morning. Meeting up with another bunch of grey haired Suzuki owners in Vernonia where we'll tear up the countryside for a few days. When our rally is over Rosemary and our little dachsie Bella will join me for a couple more weeks of Oregonian relaxation. Life is good!

Tandem kayaks? I wasn't sure what those were on gbaglo's roof....to me looked like tandem kayak CATAMARANS. Never seen anything like those.

They are inflatable pontoon boats commonly used to fish lakes and slow moving rivers.

You may have seen inflatable float tubes in use by fishermen.
The pontoon boat is a big step up in portable lightweight boats. It keeps you up out of the water as compared to being half submerged in a float tube. It is propelled by a set of oars as compared to kicking with fins in a float tube, and you don't need to wear a wet suit to keep you warm in the water.
The pontoon boat breaks down into small components. Baglo obviously chose to leave the 2 boats assembled and moved them to the next lake by strapping them to the roof of his tow vehicle, ready for action. Less chance of the big one getting away!
I think there is even a compartment on board to carry a six pack of Okanagan Spring wobbly pops!

Those are South Fork Bucks Bags pontoon boats, made in Boise Idaho. I do wear fins and waist high waders. I can manoeuvre hands free using the fins or use the oars to move more quickly and rest my legs, or use both.
Has a platform on the back for a cooler ( wouldn't you know? )

We might make it yet! We were registered in October for the Osoyoos Rally, then had to cancel because Glenn blew out his back at work
He's down in Oregon this week for his motorcycle rally, after which, if all's well, he's leaving the Cottage in Vernonia, then coming back on the motorcycle to get me & Bella. If it works out, once we're back in Oregon we're going to swing by Bullard's Beach to meet you!

REALLY? I mean REALLY? About a 10 hour round trip from Vernonia to Bandon just to "swing by"? I'm impressed! But understand if it doesn't happen, truly!

We're leaving in the morning on the first ferry to Port Angeles, then onward back to Vernonia. One of my friends crashed his motorcycle and broke his collarbone, ouch! I lent him my truck to get his broken bike and broken body home! I rode my old faithful 1979 Suzuki back to Victoria where I then loaded the Kawasaki for Oregon touring 2 up, (3 if you include our dachshund!) We've made reservations in Agness, just 27 miles inland from Gold Beach. Perhaps we'll find you guys yet!
My setup at my buddies place in Vernonia.
Kawasaki Concours loaded for more Oregon touring!
