Parking an Escape 19 - Vancouver BC
Hi
We are planning a March break trip leaving from home in Pemberton BC and staying in Van (hotel) March 18-20 to see a hockey game. Will be towing the trailer to carry on to Bend OR for a week
I wonder if this group has any suggestions for a place to leave the trailer for a couple nights while we take in the Canucks game? Closer the Yaletown the better.

Hi PEMBYescape
It might be helpful if you clarify that you wish to park your truck/trailer in Vancouver downtown area for one night or three nights? You mention “a hockey game”.
For one night I’d look for a parking lot with a 24 hour attendant. I’m not aware of any.
I don’t think you’d fit into any underground parking lot.
I don’t think I’d ever leave my truck/trailer unattended anywhere if I was on the road.
About the only way I’d consider linking an Escape trip with over nightnighting offsite would be something like a small bed breakfast place in a more rural area. But we would be in close by.
Good luck with your planning. Perhaps some others on this forum are less pessimistic than I am.

An RV park or campground sounds like an ideal place to leave the trailer.

If we know we need to leave the trailer for a night or longer for a side trip or mid trip emergency of some kind, we look for a private RV park. Many will let you leave the trailer on a site or in a storage area at reduced rate. Some charge regular nightly rate. We have never had a problem. With public parks / lands, which we prefer, you are typically not allowed to leave a vacant unit, and the risk is sometimes greater.

I agree, that's about the most viable option. I wouldn't ever leave my trailer parked anywhere near downtown Vancouver.
The Capilano site is at the North end of the Lions Gate Bridge and on a good traffic day 10 min. or so from the game.

I cannot help you with finding a place to park, but I do have to question you on your choice of hockey teams to see!

Book an RV spot under the Lionsgate bridge. You can bus easy to hockey game. You will be money ahead. Also safe. Or try the Burnaby RV park which is a few blocks from SkyTrain.

Hello, if you’re still looking for a place to park you can park in my driveway beside my Escape. I’m in Maple Ridge about a 45 minute drive from downtown. Jason

Nice of you to offer your driveway.
I think that the Capilano site is their best bet because of it's proximity to Vancouver but in a very well supervised park in a very scenic location.
I'm not so keen on the Burnaby location.
