Phoenix and Spring Training Suggestions
Hello All,
We are going to Phoenix via hwy 99 to Hwy 10 in CA to AZ. 3/9 to 3/20.
1. Any suggestions on places to stop on the way, when there and on the way home?
2. Any suggestions on where to eat in the Phoenix area?
Thanks paul

If you want a pull in at dinner out in the morning spot, I like Bakersfield RV on Wibble . It's more than I usually like to spend but the folks are nice, there's a pool and jacuzzi and small exercise rm, and an onsite restaurant with unexpectedly good food.
Next night I highly recommend Mayflower County Park just a few miles out of Blythe. It's right on the Colorado River, the restrooms and showers were brand new when I was there a year ago, and it's out of the way and quiet. I can't remember for sure but I think they take the geezer pass.
If you want an "experience" in Phoenix, go to Organ Stop Pizza. Largest wurlitzer pipe organ in the world. Worth it to go once, and the pizza was actually pretty good. https://www.organstoppizza.com Go early.
(edited to add, Hi, neighbor!)

Spring Training Suggestions
My Spring Training Suggestion is to go to catch my Padres play in Peoria. That way you can say you saw the 2018 World Series Champions play in a Cactus League game. They are sure to win the Series again this year........ Oh wait, I guess they have never won it. Never mind.

Not sure if you have a place to stay in Phoenix but the Scottsdale RV Ranch is in a great location. Very close to the Giants, Cubs, A's and Diamondback stadiums. Also walking distance to McFate Brewery, great food and brew.

McDowell Mountain Regional Park, https://maricopacountyparks.org/mcdowell, is a great place to camp. Other parks within the Maricopa County system may be closer to the ball parks, but I haven't visited any of them. McDowell is about 30-minutes from Diamondbacks park.
No help on restaurants.

Phoenix is too large to make specific recommendations, we hardly ever get to the S and E side of Phoenix and need to pack a bag and stay if we head over there.
What team are you wanting to go see and what area (s) of Phoenix are you wanting to head to?
We have some great stuff on the N side, so you'd be closest to the Mariners/Padres in Peoria, but not sure if that's what you're wanting.

Texas and Kansas City at Surprise Stadium. Not a bad seat in the house!

Forgot the eating part.....
The Tamale Store on N Cave Creek in PHX have awesome Tamales. Google them or look at their FB page. You can get them "hot" at different farmers markets.

Just got our Giants tx for Surprise...one day one night.
How about Sedona /red rocks. Just so you know using the 303 cuts out PHX traffic ESPECIALLY the 10.

Goodyear
Spent two weeks in Goodyear the March 2017. Check out Rudy's BBQ, 845 Litchfield Rd, on the way to spring training. We really enjoyed the two nearby parks, Estrella Mountain Regional Park and White Tank Mountain Regional Park. There had just been a rain so the wildflowers were spectacular.
