Horst Probe Source
I am having trouble locating a source for the Horst black water tank probes. Amazon has the gray water tank probes, but I haven't found the black water tank probes anywhere.
Who has purchased some recently, and where?
Thanks.

Although this is a two-year-old thread, there may be some info that is still good:

But check what it is going to cost you to ship them to ETI. When I checked postage was going to be about $40 from the US.

I bought a set of probes from https://www.rv-partsplus.com/orders/accessories in December. The black water probes were $35, the gray water probes were $30, and shipping was $12 ($77 USD total). There are very familiar with Escape owners and the know how to mail the probes directly to Escape.
I found using their website was confusing because of the US & Canada stores and the format of the credit card address. I just called and did everything over the phone.

Check with O'Connor RV in Chilliwack. They have the probes in stock, or did when we bought our gray and black tank probes at the end of December. I also recently bought a Zamp solar port from them, and ETI picked it up for me so you might be able to have them do the same.
I wish I knew the prices, but I'm out of town right now and don't have the info with me.

Rv parts plus had the best price on the Horst probes by far. Also, many sellers only carry the black tank probes and not the gray. I'd go with Rv-partsplus.com if they still sell them.

As Gary posted, O'Connor RV in Chilliwack is a great source. One mile from Escape and they coordinate between the two businesses to deliver/pick up. Prices are very reasonable.

When comparing prices, be sure to convert from CAD.

I got mine from rv parts plus and they sent them straight to ETI for the price quoted above. It took less than a week and was easy, so that is one way to do it.

We recently (end Nov 2016) used RV Parts plus and they have a Canadian arm and a US arm. The advantage of that is that they can easily ship to Canada without charging an arm (sorry!!) and a leg. They supplied me 4 black and 4 grey probes, including taxes and delivery for just over C$100, or about US$77. You can contact them by e-mail at RGLowe7@gmail.com. They have shipped to ETI many times before. They were super quick and will phone you if any issues. I would use them again 100%.

I did the same and the price when converted to US$ was at least as cheap as the Amazon price. It was also super easy because I didn't have to do anything but call and order. ETI went over and picked them up.

I also ordered ours through O'Connor RV in Chilliwack. When O'Connor RV received them, ETI sent someone to pick them up. You don't have to mess with shipping costs and customs holdup.

FYI - Horst Probes on a 2017 Escape 19
email from ETI 02/08/2017 (edited with Smilies)
"Our standard probes are installed in our tanks prior to us receiving them. Many customers are opting to go with the Horst Probes instead of the standard ones. We do require installing these during production as the probes in both the black and grey tanks are inaccessible.
We are working on making the Horst Probes a standard feature, however, I do not have a timeline available at this time as to when that will take effect."
perhaps inquire before ordering parts and build sheet is due as they may be standard by then....you might also request to be informed if and when they do become standard.
