The article provides good descriptions of battery construction with cylindrical cells and prismatic cells, but the most popular design uses pouch cells. While Tesla's cylindrical-cell modules are nightmares of glue, pouch cells are usually assembled into modules by stacking them in plastic frames and clamping them with bolts... and little to no glue.

I think the Renology batteries use pouch cells. For those Escape owners considering the long term waste load. However they are parallel only for the installs which precludes them from someone designing 24 volt trailer system.
