Stone is almost done except for the tapered pillars and rock arch over the entry. Color going on the stucco. Rather than using a tinted product they put a tinted elastomeric masonry coating over it. Nice.Click image for larger version

Awesome house, great views out the windows. Looks like your Escape will be happy with its own detached garage. Very nice.

Acrylic stucco is what it is referred to here, and almost all that is done. Two coats of regular cement base stucco, topped with the acrylic. I will be using it on my project house.

When I worked in the paint industry many years ago, we sold alot of DryVit, which was a stucco like product that we tinted to the final color. This is not that at all but is as you described Jim - regular stucco, with a coating over the top with the final color. It's a thick elastomeric.

The old style of tinted cementitious stucco does get pretty tired looking after a while, and we have painted it with an elastomeric paint lots, it covers great and seals the small cracks. The stuff we use as an acrylic finish coat on stucco is elastomeric as well, but it gets trowelled on, and floated smooth. I think we are talking the same things. A popular brand of stucco products used here is Sto.
Stucco Systems - Sto Corp.

For those not knowing what elastomeric means, it is just a technical name for stretchy.

And sometimes for a variety of reasons ends up with a few cracks or damaged areas. A friend, with 30 year old stucco, just repaired some damage and painted the whole house with an elastomeric coating. Looks better than new and it hides the patches completely.

Yeah, you can get some nice bold colours with the coatings. Even new, the tinted cementitious stucco is not as brightly coloured. I see very little of it being done, though some have with the thought of using an elastomeric coating instead of the acrylic finish going in.

Getting there. Tilework is almost finished, granite goes in later this week. Then comes flooring. Still a HUGE amount of work outside as well, including excavation, stone retaining walls, landscaping, driveways, sidewalks, sprinkler system, etc. RV garage now done except for some paint.Click image for larger version

Thanks for the update. I was wondering how long it would be before the invites to the house warming went out.

The finishing details do seem to take awhile to finally get done but it's looking great.

It's stucco with a coating over it.

Congrats! We recently visited San Antonio in March of this year. Had a great time exploring your lovely city, especially The Alamo and Riverwalk, but as you say, traffic is not good. We were there the week before the Final Four. I imagine it was worse that week!

We rented a car and drove through the Texas Hill Country (beautiful country!). Had to stop at Cooper's in Llano to get some real Texas BBQ, of course!
