Escape Industries website....

I can not find anywhere on the factory website where this forum is listed, nor linked, as a resource?? Am I missing an important connection?

Jim, if you click on “Join the Community” it shunts you to the ETI Facebook page, and the forum is on the page that comes up.

It's unfortunate they're shoving people to Facebook first. There are a lot of people who don't do Facebook and never will. Consequently they'll never see/find the link to this forum.

On my iPad I have to click on see more beside the link to the homepage to find the link to the forum. I don’t think that is acceptable since some of us don’t do Facebook. I think there should be a link under resources for both this forum and Facebook. I suspect the members here are just as effective at selling new trailers as any sales person.

Donna, I do not have a Facebook account and I NEVER will; I want nothing to do with FB.
But if you click on the link I mentioned to Jim, you get to the page even if you do not have a Facebook account.
That being said, I agree that ETI should have a direct link to the Escape Forum. I would hazard a guess that ETI has sold a lot of trailers to people who wouldn’t have purchased had they not explored the forum and asked questions of existing owners. In other words, I believe that ETI owes the forum a “debt of gratitude.”

When I click on the “join the community,” the Facebook page that pops up on my iPhone has a photo of an Escape at sunrise (or sunset) and there are 3 links at the bottom of the page, one of which is a link to the forum.

BUT, the link says "Join the Community." My point is those that don't want to go anywhere near Facebook, may misunderstand when shoved to Facebook... by the words "Join the Community." Words matter.

IMHO... bad, bad marketing.

The links to this forum and to FiberglassRv used to be on the home page at the bottom...

THIS is what a non-Facebook user sees when shoved there. Unless one knows the 'more' expands the information... it's probably ignored.

This is what I, as a non-Facebook user, see when I get diverted from the ETI website to Facebook. Note that the Escape forum link is the second item on the lower left, although hard to read on the thumbnail of a screen shot.

Edit: 3rd item is link to FGRV Forum.

OK. Mystery solved. I typically use my iPhone when I am browsing the web. What I displayed above is the “mobile site” for Facebook. When I tell my phone to display the desktop site, I get what Donna posted. Therefore, people on desktops or laptops are not going to immediately see the forum links when redirected from the ETI site to Facebook.

No Fakebook for me, but my wife (grudgingly) uses it since so many relatives are on it and that's the way to get family news nowadays.

I use Facebook to great advantage by joining private FB groups. These are great communities for quickly sharing information. I currently belong to FB groups for my condo association, church, neighborhood association and Escape Trailers. I also belong to several forums including this one. If FB isn't for you, that's fine, don't join. But for many of us, it's a nice way to stay in touch with folks who share a common interest without the (at times necessary and beneficial) structure of forums like this.

I'm far from an authority, but I rather resent the FB method. Under the guise of bringing the world together, the real program is to capture your data and use it for economic gain. Not your gain, of course.

Agreed but it is a reality in our modern world. Not necessarily joining any sociall media site ,but just modern commerce. I hate it but am subject to it as anyone on this forum... If you think your immune by not being on FB your wrong. How do you think this forum makes money? Not really anything like privacy anymore. Scary stuff

You do know this is a for-profit forum, right? It wouldn't exist if it didn't make money. But just like Facebook, no one is forced to be a member or post.

Donna is correct. one of the biggest assets of these online businesses is their email list... If you are on here, your commerce.... Whats the alternative these days? Email lists are worth lots of money....And your part of it, like it or not
