Jealous?

Just signed over ownership of my 2020 Toyota Highlander ( less than 16,000 kilometers ) and 2009 Escape 17B to my daughter and hubby as a gift.
Have voluntarily given up my driver license because one can’t drive on oxygen.
Won’t miss winterizing it or packing everything we own to go camping. Won’t miss the maintenance or expense either.

Sorry to hear the camping door closed for you Glenn. May you find something else that brings you pleasure and helps to create good memories.

Sometimes doors slam shut and other times they close softly. Hopefully this was the latter and a new door opens brightly for you.

Hopefully I’ll be around a bit longer to watch CNN and CBCNN and listen to CBC Radio One. At least I’m not in Gaza.

On oxygen, eh? Probably good not to get too close to a campfire in any event. Was wondering why I hadn't seen any posts by you lately, so thanks for letting us know. Still loving the camping griddle that you recommended to me a couple of years back. Take care and don't lose that quick wit of yours.

Baglo! You’re alive! Welcome back! You weren’t kicked off the forum for being recalcitrant after all.

In response to the title of this thread, jealous of what? Getting out of the rat race of camping reservations, successfully retiring to the front porch, or…?

Good luck.

Good to hear from you Glenn. Hope you and Leslie (the old Bag) are doing as well as possible. We’ve camped together, shared some experiences, had a few beers and become friends with distance between us and we will continue to cherish the time we’ve spent together at Osoyoos.

When Glenn was posting regularly he would often include a photo or two in his post. At one point, a new member of the forum posted that she enjoyed a picture Glenn had posted and told Glenn she thought he had a good ability to take photos and that he should pursue that. I discreetly sent her a personal message suggest she “google” Glenn which she did. She wrote me back with the gist of the message being “I had no idea”.

So here’s a write up on Glenn and his career. He’s a wise, giving person who will share his knowledge with anyone and we’re proud to call Glenn and Leslie friends.

Best of Luck to Glenn and Leslie always.

I’m getting home care, provided by the government. They pay for oxygen and equipment and nursing and meds.
This morning, and every morning , a home care person comes to give me a sponge bath. It’s weird. I can raise my arms and wipe my pits, but I can’t say no. I just have to let them do enough to justify the program.
Costs me nothing.
Thanks for the well wishes.

What a lovely gesture for your daughter and her husband! I wish you a great rocker or porch swing to enjoy life now.

Nice write-up Dave.

Well I was going to mention the old Bag but I thought the better of it given the kerfuffle it created at the time.

Thanks for posting the link to his career. Ah, the Gastown riots, I remember that night well.

It was in early summer 2009 we first met, then on to many more meetups since then. I have very much enjoyed time spent with you and Leslie. All the best from Lisa and me, and may you enjoy yourself as much as you can.
