Jim Norman Update

Several people have private messaged me about Jim Norman and the fact that he has not been participating in the Escape Forum for a while. Noelia, Jim’s wife authorized me to provide the following information. Jim is battling with the complications from several operations and procedures going back a couple of years.

Without going into the specific details, Jim is recovering from yet another emergency surgery. He has become somewhat of a legend amongst his care providers, both nurses & surgeons, for his resilience, sense of humor, and positive outlook in the face of extreme adversity.

In Noelia’s words: “He is looking forward to future trips, but in the meantime when he is walking again and can get out to the Escape (I call it his club house) he will enjoy looking over maps, organizing camping gear, and pitching new ideas for modifications to the trailer…which is half the fun of executing a camping adventure.”

She summarized by writing: “We are prepared for the ultimate camping trip, but until God confirms the reservation… we plan to carry on and enjoy our time together.”

I’ll emphasize again how dedicated Noelia has been when it comes to Jim’s physical situation as well as his mental outlook. Her manner regarding the dignity of the human being is saintly.

I wonder whether Amazon has noticed a big dip in the PA revenue stream.

All the best and hope his sage advice returns to the forum soon.

And thanks to Telescopist and Noelia for the update.

Not to mention fewer used Escapes with empty propane tanks available on the East Coast.

Hang in there Jim, we're rooting for you.

Jim Norman Update

I got an encouraging email from Noelia, Jim's wife today. He is back home after a 4-week stay in the hospital. Noelia wrote, "He isn’t ready for prime time yet, but definitely itching to go out and play in the Escape!"

She mentioned in passing that several people have contacted her about looking at an Escape up close and personal. They are not able to do show their 19. Mine's in storage and I have all sorts of scheduling conflicts. That said, one couple in particular is interested in attending the Niagara Wine Escape Rally. I sent Noelia a link to the Thread "Niagara Wine Escape 2023" for distribution to at least one of these couples. If there is a more concise form of info. re: the up and coming Niagara rally please let me know. Thanks.

Jim is still sleeping a lot and hasn’t touched his laptop at all. Perhaps now that he is home and gaining strength day by day, he'll get back on the Escape forum soon.

Having participated in the Escape forum and owned an Escape for only 18 months I don't know Jim Norman all that well. But I assume he must have superhuman influential powers to be able to wear PJs and a T shirt in a hospital bed. I've NEVER been able to convince hospital personnel to let me wear anything in a hospital room but a dignity robbing gown which is open at the backside.

Thanks for letting us know. I'm glad he's going home. I think recuperating is easier at home (and usually quieter!) and Noelia will make sure he behaves himself

Thanks Dick for updating us and giving Noelia the Niagara info. We received her email and passed it on to Alf per her request.
