Sadly this happens all to often. We need politicians who can figure out a way to stop manufacturing from doing this to the U.S. Make the import tariffs too expensive or something.

It is sad, however, keep in mind the economy sheds on average over 150,000 jobs every month (+/-). It is suggested the attrition rate will be in excess of 175,000 every month for the first quarter of 2023. Oh Joy!
That is happening at the same time as new job creation every month.
So they do disappear every month. But it still sucks.

The big chill...
Hi: All... The US. doesn't really need any more refrigeration. IMHO they're already in the "Deep freeze"!!! Alf

Sometimes all I can do is shake my head at how too many in this world have completely lost the spirit of civility toward one another. Sad!

Agreed! Recently I was involved in a road rage incident after waiting a few seconds too long when a light turned green; to my surprise is was a 25ish year old individual. I felt sorry for them, that angry at such young age. Nevertheless I apologized for delaying her; I figure that the only way for us to stop fighting is for one person to react peacefully...perhaps we may even brighten an angry person's day!

That's fine. Remember, sometimes moderators take care of things before you even read it. This week we all voted... right!?! So a couple of posts got a bit political in nature. Let's just stick to the topic and leave everything political on some other place on the WWW.

I was being facetious
I'll take the rap.
Facetious: Playfully jocular; humorous. No harm intended towards Donna, an insightful and balanced moderator.
I've found posts by Hazelwood to be inciteful, wandering and provoking.
YMMV.
I'm done.

Again, folks, the now deleted post I reacted to when I wondered where civility has gone had nothing at all to do with any political or controversial subjects. It was a cheap shot out of the blue taken on another member’s benign post. It was taken down quickly, and rightfully so. A pretty simple cleanup by the moderators. It was not some overreach of censorship.

I'm currently taking a non-credit class on George Washington's first cabinet (Jefferson, Hamilton, Knox, etc.) What is striking is that even though they sometimes vehemently disagreed with one another, their back-and-forth letters exhibited a remarkable tone of civility. For example, here is the closing sentence in a letter from Jefferson to Washington.
In the mean time and ever I am with great and sincere affection & respect, dear Sir, your most obedient and most humble servant
So refreshing to see leaders show each other such respect even though they had major differences.
Wow, that was a long walk from fiberglass trailers to the founding fathers of the United States.
So here goes.....Dear fellow esteemed Escapee's, I bid you a heartfelt adieu and remain as ever humble and grateful for your continued opinions and advice.

Well bummer....
We got our configuration email from Escape yesterday, and this is in bold red letters:
"Please note that the compressor fridge has been discontinued by the manufacturer and Escape may or may not be able to supply your Escape with one. Although we have removed it off the options sheet we encourage you to enquire about availability should you be interested in this option. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are currently investigating a new supplier."
Guess Norcold has put a dead stop to supplying the compressor fridge after this move....bah humbug! LOL No fridge it is for our Escape (until we get our own from other sources....).

Brands like Nova Kool, Isotherm and Vitrifrigo are likely better alternatives anyway.

hmm, they still list the N2175 which I installed as an exact fit replacement of the RMD8555
https://norcold.com/product/n2175/
now, I don't doubt that moving manufacturing of these from US to Mexico and/or Europe will result in delayed deliveries.
but I do note that a bit over a year ago, Thetford (Norcold's parernt) was taken over by a private equity firm.

Your fridge space is narrower; Gen 2 Escapes have a wider entrance door specially to be able to use such models as a Dometic Americana.
Agree there should be a suitable SOF however.

I bought a Norcold N2175 last month. It was made in China.
