They had them 6 months ago and stopped offering them but subsequent builds have been offered Colemans. Not sure how it stands now. I'm going with the after market Houghton.

9/24/21 build with Coleman. My thought is / was running on low it’s quiet, not too big, and I didn’t have to install it. There have been times in a similar sized trailer the Dometic 11,000 was not enough, and the Coleman is so much quieter, it’s fine by me. The Dometic really is too loud to be comfortable for me.

We are on our second Houghton 13.5 unit. The first one continually shut off after two minutes of operation. That was not nearly enough time to cool anything down and certainly not enough to start condensing. A pro RV installer did the work. We finally decided it was a defective unit and RecPro sent out a replacement free of charge.
After professional installation, we discovered the replacement unit did the exact same thing - same problem! Now, it may just be that the cabinets (we have a class B van, not an Escape) may be pushing cold air back to the plenum where the sensor which might be telling the Houghton that the coach is cooled down to the set temperature. Good suggestion by Oldtimer. We'll see.

Hi Jack,
We have a 2022 5.0 that we plan on adding a Houghton a/c to it.
Just wondering what size you eventually decided on, looks like you are in Florida so probably need extreme cooling.
Also i saw on the installation instructions that the unit shouldn't be installed on a roof with more than 5 degrees slope, i measured ours at 5.9 degrees, have you had any issue with that.
thanks
Denis
