Thanks for the Answers

Over the last month this forum has been a great resource as my wife and I considered which Escape trailer to buy. We appreciate the thoughtful replies to each of our four questions we had asked. That said we have made the decision to stick with our High Camp teardrop trailer. When weighing all the pros and cons we just keep coming back to the fact that the teardrop provides us so many of the benefits that we want….and it’s paid for.

At the time we joined the forum we were 100% convinced we were going to buy a 19. Every thing we have heard about the 19 and the 5.0 has been positive, but we also learned a lot about the realities of a larger trailer.

Thanks again, hope to see you on the road.

Chris

Everyone has their own needs and circumstances. We have met many other happy teardrop camper owners, in fact encountered a rally of them at one site.

Me, I wouldn't buy a camper without a bathroom, or without being able to cook indoors. Which reminds me: Escape makes a smaller camper, the 17 (model 17A without and model 17B with a bathroom). Did you look at those? Might fit your style better than the 19 or 5.0. Used 17s turn up from time to time (look on the Escape Pre-Owned Page).

Father time may change your mind

Father time may change your mind as to what works best for you. I think, someday, you'll be back, looking. As we age, we change, in many ways and needs.

I wouldn’t be surprised. Right now we are 62 and do yoga so we can still change inside.

This will sound counterintuitive, but the 17 is to small. I’d didn’t interest us because it wasn’t enough of a difference to make it worth it
