Question Adding backer boards in cabinet?

I want to install two backer boards inside the lower cabinet by the door on the 5.0. It looks like there would be no problem installing on the left side (toward the stairs). However, the right side is the curved wall with the liner. Anyone have advice on how to best do this?
The idea is for the boards to mount bungees for holding shoes vertically in the cabinet. I'd like it to be sturdy and avoid eating up space as much as possible.
Thanks!

Not sure what you are building / making.

Are you talking about using Concrete Hardie backer board.. 1/4”. @ 2.6 lbs per squ ft.

I would use Hardboard tempered panel ( smith masinary board) 1/8” @ 3/4 lbs per squ ft.

Unsure too

If you're trying to attach to a curved surface, a discrete dab or 2 of expanding foam, later trimmed with a sharp implement, may be much of what you need for holding power. Shoes are not usually heavy loads. You don't need a huge amount of some adhesive.

But you're the one familiar with the geometry and situation. A glob of adhesive caulk?
For permanent bonding, epoxy would do well.

Got a picture of where you want to do this?

Let try this again (smooth Masonite board)

I'd like to use something as light as possible, and still strong enough to support the shoes and bungee system and semi-rough treatment it will get over time.

Masonite doesn't handle water well, does it?

I've attached a picture of the location from the build process.
Thanks!

Concrete board will work.

No Masonite board is not waterproof. But it’s not like partial board.
I have a couple small pieces (8” by 24”) that stay in the back of my truck year round going on five years, use to place between the fuel tank and items I place in the bed.

You could coat it with enamel paint, spray paint it with shellac, to make it more water resistant. Your not going to be soaking it in water, just the dampness from your shoes.
