Backsplash

I searched the site for info on backsplashes. Found the one by ” Rubicon327 “ using peel and stick tiles. Thread also had examples by “ NW Cat Owner “ and “ amirie “ . I liked the results so decided to get to work. I did not want the standard backsplash then peel and stick on top. Soooo I decided to remove the backsplash! Wow what a PITA!!!! The back splash has screws under the plastic heads, easy, but it is also attached with silicone and stapled to the cabinet from behind, before the cabinet is installed. It was a major hassle to remove. Then I had to remove the staples. A few hours and some choice words and I got it all out.
Once The backsplash was out it was a matter of fitting all the peel and stick. Then I installed a small vinyl molding with silicone to seal all the corners. Very happy with the results but this was a level 9 project.

Beautiful & timely. I was perusing amazon today for metal backsplash material is the product you used magnetic? My plan is to remove the range hood, replace with an led light & put up covering. Would like it to be magnetic as the range hood is only magnetic surface. TIA

ETI will be installing the new SS backsplash in my 21NE! Glad to have it available now. Well, it's not actually available quite yet, but I don't pick it up till September...they're quoting $100 ~ $120.

If you remove the range hood you can replace it with an appropriate sized cookie sheet upside down just under the cabinet. This will cover up any screw and wiring holes plus still give a little protection to the underside of the cabinet.

No this is not magnetic. It is brushed aluminum. When I was looking I
I also found 3" x 5" stainless steal peel and stick pieces but stainless is not magnetic either.

Did you remove yours Ed? If I were to build again I think I'd delete it, we never think to use it and the MaxFan seems like it would do the job just fine.

No...I think it gives the kitchen a finished look. I did however upgrade the light and installed a little hangy thing so we don’t hit our head. We will upgrade the hangy thing when we find just the dangle thingy.
When I redid our Boler I installed a cookie sheet underneath the cabinet as it had nothing. Then installed a fan in the nearby window that was above the stove.
