Delete Wardrobe for an A/C

On the new "easter egg list" (that is a strange name, maybe it is Canadian) Karl states that a person may have the wardrobe deleted and the bench extended when ordering a E17B. Well, I am NOT big on A/C and I am thinking that occasionally I might place a portable unit in that location (or a dehumidifier) and vent it out the window.
Has anyone done this and how does it work?

Not that I've ever heard; maybe it's just a Karl thing.

Karl 'borrowing' the term as in this context methinks: Wikipedia - Easter egg (media)

If the use of an A/C is expected to be low and occasional this is another option.

Allows for having the wardrobe full time and the A/C once in awhile.

I preferred the AC unit above the fridge in my 2007 17B. It was quieter and cheaper to replace if required.

GD#: Be careful with those portable units with only one exhaust tube. They use cool inside air as condenser air and will put the trailer under a negative pressure. This infiltrates unconditioned air into the trailer making it harder to condition. I’ve even heard of a tightly constructed house that had a bunch of these units running they had a problem with their gas water heater due to lack of combustion air. I like the idea of a household A/C like Ron in BC shows better or my recommendation if you go portable is to find one with dual tubes- one for condenser intake and one for exhaust. There are a few out there.

Our house built a few years ago was used to demo air tightness to other contractors on completion. We have an air exchanger that moves fresh air in and out regardless if air or furnace is cooling or heating.

That's right on the money. I made the mistake of buying a single-hose (for exhaust) wheeled portable for my Hauley. When it pushed hot exhaust air out, it had to get intake from someplace... so it sucked air around the doorway (making it whistle). It sucked the 100 degree outdoor air into the trailer as fast as it pushed hot exhaust out.
