Rear window replacement

Hey all,

The outer pane on our 2020 E19 rear window got hit by an errant rock (weed eater!). The inner pane is intact. I'm wondering if anyone has been able to replace just the outside pane? I'm also thinking that this might also be an opportunity to replace it with a window that opens.

TIA.

Larry

My understanding is that there is a rear window option in the new acrylic window that is an easy swap.

Larry, my rear window...one side....delaminated (condensation between the two panes) within the first year. Reace arranged to have a new one shipped to my home and paid for the hour labor it took to swap. I still have the old one (the repair folks crated it in the shipping crate, probably thinking I had to return it to the manufacturer). You are welcome to it. I think delamination/condensation may be less bothersome than a broken window.

This is the rear window from a 2018 17A. I am not sure if all the rear windows are the same size.

I'm in Placerville...that's a bit of a trek for you. Let me know if you want it.

Edited to add...I saw the pics of your window on the Facebook page. My spare is a half pane of the opening rear window. So it won't work for you. I'm leaving this here in case someone else can use the one I have. Good luck on your replacement.

Thanks for thinking of me! I just filled out a form on the Lippert site to get a price quote! I'm gonna replace with a new unit, took the broken one out yesterday. None of the glass repair shops around here will repair it.
